I Can't Live Without My Trench Coat
I can't live without my trench coat. I have two in my closet. One is a white one, and the other is white and black plaid. The first one I got was around $100 dollars, and the other one that I got in Japan was around $30. I absolutely love them.
To me, they give off a classy aura. I don't wear jeans with them, but a simple sweater dress and a pair of tights on the inside with black boots or Oxfords. The tights I wear them with range from simple black opaque ones to flowery embroidered white ones.
Anyways, I think trench coats are great for winter. They're really warm and they look really cute!
Also, I really want a transparent umbrella. They match with everything and you can see the rain drops on your umbrella as you walk. Does anyone know where I can get one? I was going to get one in Japan for five bucks, but it would be really bulky. It's actually a good thing I didn't buy it -- we had no space left anyways.
What do you guys think of trench coats and transparent umbrellas? What's your favorite cold-weather accessory or article of clothing?

i sort of want a trench coat. i don't see the point in having an umbrella though. i would never use it.
Katie Holmes' (or Cruise is it now?) shoes and trench coat are such a cute pairing :) I don't think I could pull it off though, I'm too short for long dresses/long coats... they just make me look shorter :|
I wouldn't have any use for an umbrella though :P
I love scarves! I lived in a cold-weather city for a while and they were my favorite. Now, I live in sunny LA and I highly doubt I'll really be needing a scarf any time soon! It's the middle of winter and it's about 80 degrees... so yeah!
scarves. but then again its always sunny in socal.
I have a Burberry trench coat hidden in my closet somewhere. It is really long, though, and always seems to swallow me when I put it on. Any quick fix for this?
Transparent umbrellas- how cute! I love the idea of watching the raindrops as you walk...
transparent umbrellas just make me feel awfully romantic for some reason :)
I do believe they carry them at Urban Outfitters for $18. although they *may* be sold out ~ it's rainy season, after all!
I would have a difficult time living without my glasses. I'm legally blind without them.
I would also not enjoy living without my cold weather running gear.
I generally dislike wearing any coats or jackets because of their bulkiness, but I love trench coats. They accentuate my body shape and I feel sophisticated. Oh, and the fact that they keep me warm too makes it all the better.
I live in a place where it always rains and is cold 3 out of the 4 seasons. Coats and umbrellas are necessities. I've always wondered where to get transparent umbrellas. If you ever find out, be sure to let me know! =)
You can buy transparent umbrellas at Daiso (if there are any in your area), so it still has a Japanese feel when you buy it, lol.
I have yet to find my must-have item |:
so i looked all over the internet for a transparent umbrella, and as it turns out, it costs five times more than the actual umbrella just to ship it over to me. BOOO online shopping.
@hiwainax3@xanga - OMG, really?! I have a Daiso near my area but I doubt they have it because it's so small. I'm definitely going there tomorrow afterschool to check, though. Thanks for the recommendation! <3
@aroes_inthegarden@xanga - I know, right :( It's okay, we will find it! One day ..
@x___insomniac@xanga - Haha oh no, they gotta have it. The one near my house is the smallest one in the entire state & they have it. Hopefully they're not out of stockk!
i really want one :[
One of my fashion dreams is to buy myself a Burberry trench - probably have to get it tailored though because I'm so short :P
I love shopping in Asia, way more choice than here.
I have always wanted to pull off the trenchcoat look..... until i tried one on. I am 5'4"... and the coat made me look about 3'4". I was so upset... so there goes that idea!!
@ArmyWifeMom2Twins@xanga - try another one on.
i'm only 5'0" and i bought one from bebe, i wouldn't go for one that goes past the calves...but definitely one right at the knees, that fits and ties around the waist.
Doubt I could find a trench coat that would flatter my short, stumpy figure. Sooo.. that's out. I like scarves, but who doesn't? I love my fingerless gloves, as well. I don't know anyone who really uses umbrellas these days. I guess if i lived in the city and could walk from here to there, but my hood is good enough to get me to the car, to my destination, and back.
@ArmyWifeMom2Twins@xanga - I'm 5'4, too, hahahaha! <3
@hiwainax3@xanga - I went to Daiso today, they didn't have any transparent umbrellas :( I spent an hour scrutinizing every shelf and area of the store .. *sadface*
I love trench coats too! It's one of the must-have in your wardrobe since it has been said that it will never get out of fashion! Classics will never get out of fashion I guess. Ohh and I see a lot of transparent umbrellas down the market, but maybe that's only in London? They're vary from £5-£10 unless you want a nice good quality one then I suggest you go to the department stores such as Debenhams or John Lewis however they are more expensive. For me I would just get one down the market =) but because it's long I wouldn't want to carry with me all the time so yeah kind of inconvenient but apart from that they're awsome !
I am so into trench too... too bad I can't often wear my collection because of the weather here.. tsk
