  • Product Crush: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

    By Denise@Lovelyish

What it is: Queen Helene's Mint Juleq Masque, a mask designed to dry up acne pimples, blackheads, and tighten up your pores.

Why you want it: The deceivingly simple, generic-looking bottle design conceals the best drugstore remedy for pimples I've come across. This product, which is a fun green color, tingles pretty strongly at first, but it leaves your face feeling clean and smooth afterward. If you find that it's too drying, you can also use it as a spot treatment. Simply leave it on for about 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Some reviewers complained about the sulfur smell (as it contains a little bit of sulfur - yeah, I'm a little surprised that that's good for the skin!), but I found that the minty smell overwhelmed it pretty well. I'd suggest using it as a mask about 3 times a week, but my most recent breakout became less noticeable even after one use.

Where you can get it: Any standard drugstore (I got mine at a Duane Reade.) If there are any Canadians reading this, I hear that you can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply. At $4.50 for 8 ounces, Queen Helen's Mint Julep Masque is a steal!
