Product Crush: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque
By Denise@Lovelyish
What it is: Queen Helene's Mint Juleq Masque, a mask designed to dry up acne pimples, blackheads, and tighten up your pores.
Why you want it: The deceivingly simple, generic-looking bottle design conceals the best drugstore remedy for pimples I've come across. This product, which is a fun green color, tingles pretty strongly at first, but it leaves your face feeling clean and smooth afterward. If you find that it's too drying, you can also use it as a spot treatment. Simply leave it on for about 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Some reviewers complained about the sulfur smell (as it contains a little bit of sulfur - yeah, I'm a little surprised that that's good for the skin!), but I found that the minty smell overwhelmed it pretty well. I'd suggest using it as a mask about 3 times a week, but my most recent breakout became less noticeable even after one use.
Where you can get it: Any standard drugstore (I got mine at a Duane Reade.) If there are any Canadians reading this, I hear that you can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply. At $4.50 for 8 ounces, Queen Helen's Mint Julep Masque is a steal!

Omg! This stuff quite literly works overnight on pimples! I love it and the mud mask thing they have. :)
i think it kind of backfired when i used it
a couple of smaller pimples i had actually got irritated and turned into hugeee monstrosities after i took off the mask.
:\
I bought the big tub/container from Amazon for pretty cheap and I love it. I don't use it every day due to lack of time, but it definitely work very well.
Just the name sounds awesome!
I'm not sure it did anything for my acne, but it's a nice cheap mask to use. I use it once or twice a week and my skin always feels so smooth after.
@hahahahana3@xanga - Me too!
lol! I used to use this stuff. I forgot all about it! I used to try and make faces

when it got all dry and crusty...
I think this product is not for everyone but works miracles for some. Sadly I'm not one of those people!

I have to be honest...I didn't buy this because the packaging is so bad. Maybe I'll give it a try.
Does it really work for blackheads?
pretty good stuff, but no miracles.
oh wow thanks!! i might give it a try :D
it'll be less expensive than everything else i buy/. :D
I think this seems good. Do you think I'd be able to get it at a Walgreens or Rite-Aid? It's half the price of the Clearisil that I currently use which isn't up to my standards right now.
I swear by this product! LOVVVEEE IT!
I love this stuff! I even brought a tube of it with me to Japan! Where I lived in the U.S. you could get a bottle from CVS for around $3.00, which is even cheaper. I think how many times you use it per week depends on how oily or dry your skin is. I used it once a week until winter came and my skin became drier, so now I use it every two weeks or whenever I want to feel refreshed.
Thanks for including the Canadians too :)
Ahhhhhh!!!!!! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! So AMAZINGG! It's liek $3 at CVS!
I just picked this up at CVS today for $3.99 because of this post! I haven't tried it yet, but thanks! Even if it doesn't work wonders for me, the price was great.
one of my favorite products ever.
i LOVE this stuff, if i ever get a blemish i put it on overnight and the next morning its almost gone O_O YAY for mint julip mask!!!
I have the Tea Tree Lotion by this brand. It's pretty decent for $4. Good for after showering. The cheap stuff isn't always crappy.
it is a little messy at first; hard to apply, but it's great after.
I've used other Queen Helene products before, not the Mint mask though. Will have to give it a try. Thanks!
i got it for 2.65 at a local dolar store. i live in temple texas in the usa..
