QOTD: Liquid or Pencil Eyeliner?
Question of the Day:
I always feel like pencil eyeliner comes out too smudgy. My preference is for liquid. Which do you prefer?

Pencil.
Pencil.. I've had more practice with it. I got some liquid a few weeks ago and played around with it, but it always came out messy and hard to put on. My eyelashes kept getting in the way.
pencil for everyday, liquid for special occasions. i always feel like liquid is too noticeable / strong for everyday wear.
I am TERRIBLE with liquid eye-liner. I prefer to use CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Self-Sharpening Eye Pencil in Black Onxy. It is SO easy to use. It glides on, it's exact, and if you do mess up, it's not that big of an ordeal to clean up.
Neither, eyeliner makes my eyes look smaller.
pencil... T_T I mess up with liquid all the time
liquid all the way. pencil liner looks too light on. i like how you can always draw really fine, precise lines with liquid liner.
i like liquid..if i know how to use it..but i love pencil?!?
Ever since a mind-scarring incident concerning my guy friend & liquid eye-liner, I use pencil eye-liner for the few times I use make up.
Pencil. One time i put on liquid on a friend it turned out really messy.
liquid, hands down
@ThinkAchieve@xanga - Liquid tends too be too runny for a lot of people (see comments) and pencil is easy to use but the result isn't as strong or clean as liquid. The gel liner (MAC, Bobbi Brown) is easier to use as it is the consistency of gel but when it dries, it dries to budge proof, smudge proof crisp clean lines.
Plus gel will stay in your water line much longer and smear less than pencil.
cream eyeliner.
i, too, like H.I.P cream eyeliner, but the brush is too rough for my eye. it actually hurts. other than that, 'sall good. :)
i prefer H.I.P`s cream eyeliner for both the top and bottom of my eyes. try it !
I'll use both but prefer liquid. It depends on the look I'm going for...and I only use them a few times a year, so the variety makes it more special when I do.
i always used penciL!
Gel, pencil then liquid... not that I'm bad at liquid, but I don't use liquid often enough and it ends up drying up in my makeup stash. I have 3 MAC liquidlast liner which dried up :( The newer pencils are not as smudgy. I am using MAC Powerpoint now but hoping to try Make Up For Ever or Urban Decay eyeliner in the future. Gel so far is my favorite, though it takes a longer time to apply than pencils. MAC Blacktrack is my go-to eyeliner when I wish to make a statement with my eyes
both; first pencil and then liquid..:)
i use pencil eyeliner mine doesn't turn out smudgy it turns out pretty smooth and looks good.
pencil all the way.. ;)
I want to try liquid or gel eyeliner because I'm getting a little bored with pencil. Are there any good recommendations for first-timers in liquid/gel?
I definitely prefer LIQUID, because it is unfallible so it doesn't smudge or fade as easily. However, sometimes pencil is better... especially if you're like me and you wanna put product directly on your lash line (my eyelashes are sparse and grow all over the place).
But I still like liquid because it emphasizes my eyes more and gives it a cleaner, more polished look.
I use pencil first, and liquid to outline and do cat eyes. (:
Both!! =D
i don't like liquid. my hands really aren't steady enough for a definitive line. but i don't really like the texture of most pencils.
i'm using one by urban decay from sephora.
there's also a shimmer stick eyeliner from avon that i use. also from avon, they have this gel eye liner which is my favourite (this one's a soft line definition)
