
Whenever I felt stressed, the first thing I'd do was throw on some sweats and hit the gym. I still do that now, but I've developed the habit of biting my nails. Whenever I'm stressed out or if my mind is thinking about a million things, I subconsciously chomp on my nails.
When I was in high school, I heard that there is a nail polish to prevent nail biting. Apparently, if you bite nails with this polish on, you'll get a bitter taste in your mouth. I've never seen it in stores so I didn't even bother looking for it online or at any other beauty stores.
I don't know what to do, though. I know it's not a sin, but I always end up biting off my nicely grown nails and it looks like a dog gnawed at my fingers. Even if they are polished, I'll still do it (I know... gross). Um, help!?

I'm not help on this topic. I am guilty of biting my nails down to the quick, basically. It's REALLY gross. Every year that is one of my New Year's resolutions, but it never seems to happen. I mean I might do it for a week, but then I just come back to biting them all over again and all the progress I made growing them out has gone to dirt. :( Haha, yeah. So if anyone knows how to stop, please let me know too!
I don't bite/pick at my nails...I pick off the skin around them though. It's really bad and it makes my hands look weird, so I'm not much help. And if I'm not picking at my fingers, I'm chewing at my lip til it bleeds...really gross, I know
Bite No More is the brand I use. stuff tastes nastyyyyyyy. and no matter how much you rinse out your mouth or scrub it with cloth or anything the taste DOES NOT go away!!! unfortunately it chips easily, so I end up picking at my nails and peeling it right off and going back to the habit. ;.;
I'm so bad that I'll bit my nails til it hurts to put pressure on that finger. and if there aren't any nails I go after my cuticles D:
you could try chewing gum whenever you want to bite your nails.
then you trade gum for tea, and then replace that with a better method.
MAVALA is one of the polishes that you can put on to get that bitter taste. It's really really disgusting.

I used to be a nail biter
Then I switched to biting my lips
Now I'm weaning myself off of that habit

erm...to be honest i really always bite my nail although i know it is a extremely bad habit
I only bite my nails when they're really long and I know I can just fix them with a nail clipper.

I bite my nails, and pick at my cuticles and the skin around the nails. If I leave my nails alone then I focus on the cuticles and skin. So nothing really ever worked out for me, good luck to you though. : )
omg... this is the worst habit i ever got from my ex. i have never biten my nails since i remember until last year. what i do is as soon as i catch myself biting them, i stop and warn myself.
To get my younger siblings (and myself at one point, but I don't remember...) she would put Tea Tree Oil (essential oil) on our nails, or Oregano Oil... pretty much anything that had a horrid taste. This resulted in us immediatly stopping. Of course, we were kids, and you're an adult. That and the fact that both oils have a certain... potent smell to them.
i bite them when they break or get jagged and i want to kind of smooth them out, since usually i dont have a nail file handy. generally, this makes them worse =|
Clip your nails so you won't have anything to bite! Haha! :D
i knoww i use to bite my nails all the time, im starting to stop when i get older but when i am really stress or nervous, i notice that i do it a lot. For me to stop its just self control or do it in front of my mom so she yells me to stop. lol
i always think that nails biting is a sexy habit! LOL. mayb chewing gum can help! xx

You'll eventually find that nailpolish. Get some nailpolish for growth. Try to get another habit to replace it
I can never stop biting my nails. I usually grow them out for about a month, and then in one day I'm nervous or stressed, I'll bite them all off. >.<
I don't bite nails. Whenever I felt stressed, I ate. It ended up, I'm overweight. I heard, running or exercise is a good way to handle stress, maybe, you can try it to see if it works.
I have never got into the whole nail biting thing. I always get complimented on my very well taken care of nails. My sister used some sort of nasty tasting polish or something that is supposed to stop you from biting your nails. It worked until she got sick of the flavor and stopped using it.
