Holidays are the only time I'll worry about how nice my hair looks or if my face is ready for the copious amounts of pictures it'll be featured in. I'm going to assume it's the same for many people, given the fact that every season there are "holiday looks" and "holiday makeup trends." How you look this season for a holiday is so important to some people, they spend months preparing and researching these trends.
Well, to save you (our dear readers) some time, I've done the research and compiled a list of holiday makeup looks!
Smokey eye, light lips.This was seen on Zac Posen's runway shows but it's undoubtedly trickled down to more ladies than just models.
Deep red lips, bare eyelidsNow here we have the exact opposite of the trend mentioned before. This is the one look I wish I could pull off.
Gold EyeshadowI wear this every day before I apply my eyeliner anyway, so I'm happy to see that
A) It's actually in for the holidays
B) I'm not the only one who thinks gold is amazing, and
C) I already own it - yay for saving money!
Though those three were the most reoccurring trends from every site I visited, I found these images off of
this beauty site. It may not be the trends, but these looks were pretty interesting and inspiring. Maybe of one you daring readers can try them out for the holidays?

I'm all for the glitter...I love glitter.
I love the Smokey eye, light lips look. I don't normally wear makeup.
lol, I thought the second photo is the "elf look".
The smokey eye-nude lips combo has been used for years. And it's an unwritten rule: Pair dramatic eyes with nude lips or natural eyes with bright lips.
And I'm already in with the gold eyeshadow trend, and I loves it :D
I think that the pic with the gold eyeshadow with the sparkly red is super cool. I wanna try that
i'm all for the smokey eye, nude lips look....i wanna try the red lips, but i still need to find the right shade of lipstick for that

on another note, i simply adore the smokey eye thing goin` on ... but i can`t make it work on myself. anyone else, yup. myself? heck nah i end up looking like i went three rounds with the local club bouncer =\ so no smokey eyes for me :( lol

@ladiie_rapture@xanga - i have issues with the smokey eye look ( the black shadow just messes with my face)....i do the smokey eye with a dark brown instead and i don't look like i got punched in the eye, or even you could possible use a darker purple and grey. hope this helps!

Deep red lips and bare eyelids work for me, but the model look like an alien.
Wish I was that brave for some of those looks, rofl. Shoot, around here, if you simply wear a nice decorate hat of some sort, people look at you like you are from another planet, rofl. Can't wait til I get old, will wear mine to church, lol, :)

I bought some gold glitter from Sephora and I love it. These looks are so fun, glam, and very romantic, just like the holidays. I know most of these looks are most common on the runway, but I totally wear them anyways despite what anyone thinks. Red lips have always been a favorite, and I think it looked more subdued with bare lids.
I don't like glitter.
I guess I'm an au naturale girl who sometimes were eyeshadow.
I've tried all three of those looks and still use them for special occasions; I don't really see them as "trendy" makeup because they're always popping up as the newest thing in fashion. I particularly adore red lipstick with an LBD; it's just so effortless.

I absolutely adore the gold shadow!! I want it :) For new years, i am going to do my own makeup, but getting my hair done.. this year i am going to get glitter in my hair to be more festive about the new year! i am very excited..... my birthday is on the 29th as well, so i have to get ready for two nights!!
