Gorgeous Dresses: Where Do You Find Them?
Guest blog submitted by missmorose
I'm not the kind of girl who goes crazy over designer brands, but I spotted a runway feature on TV and I was hooked on Celine's Spring/Summer Collection 2009. I think the Croatian fashion designer Ivana Omazic is absolutely amazing. Her creations actually look like something I'd be willing to take a second look at, to buy and wear as often as possible even.
So I searched online and finally found the dresses that caught my eye:
Dress #1
I'd pair this with white heels and go for a classy picnic or the like.
Dress #2
This one seriously looks like something a beautiful faerie would wear.
Dress #3
I kind of like how girly and flirty it looks -- you can just wear in down the street and go for a girls' day out.
Dress #4
This looks to me like something you'd wear for a sophisticated look at a party, alcohol involved.
Dress #5
Given my choice, this would go under office wear. Imagine sashaying into the office in this gorgeous dress that calls for attention in a subtle way!Somehow looking at these dresses, I don't have the same feeling I usually get when I look at designer clothes. These clothes actually look like they can can fit a woman larger than a size two. Oh my! I love the above dresses for various reasons. I love all the swishy skirts! I'm in love with dress 1 especially, because of the various colour tones in it and the fact that actually looks comfy to wear for the whole day.
I tried looking at the other designers' collection (like Chanel and Agnes B, but they kind of just left me with a "What...?" look on my face. No offense, though, but that didn't turn out so well).
Which of these is your favorite? Where do you go to buy really original and beautiful dresses?

i only like dress number five. i especially hate number one and number four. i have a dress similar to number five though.
I like them all! I go to JC Penney. It may not be the most high end of places to shop but they do have some cute dresses. :)
I love the # 2 look. and you are right.. most designer dresses seem like they would only fit (and look good) on a size 0-2. I don't normally buy dresses very often (beacause they look hideous on me) but I would go to the mall (any girlie store) and just scan/search. Take a girlfriend and head over... you can find all sorts of cute outfits, dresses included!
Number 4 DEFINITELY would not work on anyone over a size 0. It's shapeless and bulky in the worst areas. It even give that pin-thin model wearing it excess volume. While I like the colors on the other dresses, and the ethereal fabric, I would have liked to see some contrast...maybe in some dark leather accessories or a punkish belt. Without any sort of roughness added to these looks, they seem more at place at a ballet recital or Disneyworld.
@LisaNYM10@xanga - i agree. even though i am smaller i think i would still feel bulky in that dress.
the thrift store of course!!
i want dress #2!!
personally I hate all those dresses for they bore me :P
@neon_fairy_wings@xanga - i agree.
i couldn't really focus on the dresses..but the bones
My favorite would be the purple one (2?). Personally though, I tend to go for really simple dresses (my friends end up calling them "elegant"). I love my two dresses from JCrew.
i like the yellow dress.
I like 1 and 3
dress 3 for sure
I actually like all these dresses, very pretty :) I wouldn't wear these dresses to work though...probably to dinner parties and special events. I love BCBG dresses but they are a bit pricey so i only own 2 for special occasions.
I like #1 but #4 looks pretty cool as well.
I'd wear #1 (the one on the left) if the asymmetrical sleeve/shoulder cap and strange necklace were removed. Numbers 2 and 3 look really cheap and amateurish (#2, in particular, looks like the designer had some extra fabric and just wrapped up a model in it). Number four has nice fabric and interesting draping, but it's kind of reminiscent of a bathrobe (no shape) and looks rather costumey. Number five looks like the dress was rolled around in soot and not washed for several years (very drab, to say the least), but the cut is good.
I like them all, but I really like #1, but I would actually prolly wear #2 if it were grey =D

this one is neat also.....but I once saw a better one @ target & almost bought it....
I love 3 and 4. As for cool dresses, I tend to hit up vinatge shops where my money can be stretched a bit further.
1 & 4
I go to thrift stores.
My favs are 2 and 4. If I need a dress I usually hit up either Macy's or Saks.
i like 1 and 3 best
i make my own. so much easier.
I don't go for designers, all the time. I do however own a couple of designer clothing like Prada, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, and etc. I like most of the dresses above, but I won't buy them. I preferr otherwise.
I usually get my dresses from Forever 21 if it's just a one day usage. I have others from Nordstroms and Macy's, too.
It just depends.
It doesn't have to be designer to look good!
I find that all of the dresses are unattractive and sacky looking.
@XxWiltedRosexX@xanga - likewise
for me these dresses would look horrible cos i have no boobs to give it dimension :D
