Make Your Own Facial Mask!
Guest blog submitted by Fashionoid
We all know that oats are good for our body, but they're good for our face too. This mask is suitable for any skin type. Just follow four simple steps to create this mask! Here is what you need:
1. Honey
2. Oats
Method:
Step One: Using a bowl or container, fill in two teaspoon of oats
Step Two: Add three teaspoons of honey
Step Three: Mix the ingredients until it turns out all gooey
Step Four: Apply mixture on face and leave it for 15 - 20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water and pat dry.Would you try this facial mask? Have you ever used a homemade facial mask before? Do you have any tips/recipes?

i usually just wash my face with ivory soap, or none at all. it stays clearer and doesn't dry out as much.
I make my own masks all the time. I prefer homemade scrubs and clay masks.
Would I try this one? Maybe.
My tip would be to use raw honey, not the heated up honey that is in over abundance, it must specifically say RAW or UnHEATED on the label. That way you get all the benefits of the healthy natural enzymes that are in unheated honey. Raw honey is antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal, and antibacterial and leaves skin feeling baby smooth, I use it all the time in my clay masks and scrubs.
i`ve tried this recipe for a mask before and I agree with FairBunnyPrincess, raw honey definitely leaves better results! i find that this mask works really well overnight to even things out, i use it on nights where i have to get up in the morning and do a presentation or go to some big event like a grad or birthday. it`s awesome :) also, as an aside, mixing raw honey with granulated sugar makes an excellent facial (or body) scrub!
What exactly are the benefits of this particular mask?
this sounds very good. honey is excellent for your skin.
@ladiie_rapture@xanga - sounds like a good idea. i'm going to try it =)
@YouTOme@xanga - for sure. i`ve been using the honey& oats mask and the honey&sugar scrub for about 3 - 4 years now, my great grandma actually taught me about them. i`ve never had a problem, and the mask really evens out skin tone, which is good for me cause i have a slight bit of rosacea. the scrub is excellent and if you want to REALLY indulge yourself, use brown sugar instead, especially if it`s going to be used as a body scrub - the scent alone is simply intoxicating <3 haha.
lemon & sugar works great as well & tastes good too!
this stuff is great just be careful if you have very sensitive skin. my skin reacts to essentially everything and while organic/all natural in theory is ideal, sometimes skin (as mine does) reacts poorly and will break out in blemishs and pimples because the stuff applied is to natural
I wouldn't try it since I don't know what exactly it would do to my skin. I've made my own with honey and such.
if you eat honey or oatmeal without a reaction on your lips/skin around your mouth, you shouldn't have a problem with using this mask. if you're worried, do a small test patch by the skin by your mouth or on the inside of your forearm or behind your ear.
honey and oatmeal are both very gentle ingredients, so unless you have a pollen allergy to the type of honey you're using, a reaction is not likely. doctors tell poison ivy victims to take oatmeal baths for a reason ;)
I'm highly allergic to honey.
@two_days_until_forever - thats such a shame. its amazinggg.
id suggest sugar and oil to exfoliate.
I've never worn a facial mask before, but after reading the recipe and looking at comments from people who use it makes me want to try it. :)
I might try this one. I have made my own before and they turned out nice.
I've made lots of my own masks and scrubs, but I like them to be a bit less delicious-looking than this one. ^_~
lol looks like breakfast to me
I've tried a homemade scrub (not for facial use) and it's pretty good!! I made the recipe myself after reading a couple of suggested recipes and just combined a bunch of stuff. It also uses honey and oats, but also sugar, grape seed oil, almond oil, etc. Not bad, I'd have to say! :)
@sweet_sianara@xanga - I do use sugar and olive oil (I'll add vanilla or almond extract sometimes) as a body scrub, but I won't go beyond St. Ives Apricot Scrub on my face. My skin can have very unusal reactions to things, so I have to be careful!
