By Erica@LovelyishHere's my one girly moment: I love ball gowns. I love the detail, their forms, the colors, you name it. This is why I love when Gossip Girl makes the characters attend atleast one formal dance every season. Last night was their Senior Winter Ball and were the gowns ever an eye candy.
Now don't stop reading, Gossip Girl haters. We're just recapping the dresses, not the episode (but for those who did watch - who wanted to kill CW for cutting off the episode at
such a juicy part?)!
Here are the few that caught my eye from last night:
Jenny's FrenemiesAlright, apart from the pink cupcake we have on the right hand side, I'm going to say these girls are lookin' good. I could wrap my head around the two dresses, especially the silver strapless one. But pink Cinderella has to go.
VanessaI loved Vanessa's dress too. I know I complained about all things glittery in my
AMA's post, but I think she pulled it off entirely well. Even when she had that mishap, courtesy of immature upper east side brats (I won't say what, for you GG viewers who have yet to see last night's episode), she looked good.
JennyI can't remember what she wore. All I can remember is her resembling a lump of coal for the last fifteen minutes of the show. Really, Jenny?
Blair and Chuck
If anyone questions why I am so in love with this man, I am going to direct their attention to this picture. A sparkling suit. Only you, Chuck Bass. He looked so amazing (read: badass) in this suit last night, he could have been the only character on. I also loved how well Blair's dress fit to her body and the contour dark fabric on the bust. This is what I would've worn.
SerenaI loved her dress until she turned towards the screen and I saw the front had a huge chunk missing. I don't understand this at all - what was the point? The dress was so pretty and she looked lovely but that ruined the entire thing for me.
Okay, so you know which ones I like and dislike. Which one of these dresses would you have worn to the winter ball? Which ones would you not even step out of the house in?

i have a complete obsession with dresses! i love to dance...i'm currently looking for a new red salsa dress...can't seem to find "the one" yet
@foreveronthedancefloor21@xanga - Oh trust me, there were waterworks. I'm a big Dan fan so my heart went out to the poor guy, he didn't even seem like he wanted to take Aaron's ex. Maybe you are right! They could be snowflakes, that would make Chuck so much better.
@x___insomniac@xanga - Agreed! Serena's goodies are always popping out, it's like her trademark. She shows too much, lest we forget her Yale outfit - oof!
@canadiankelly214@xanga - I know! It worked out all too well in Lily's favor but how bad do you feel for Chuck? Now he is parentless. I'm not a big Vanessa/Nate fan either, but I don't like Jenny. Perhaps Nate should just fly solo then?
@bE_my_eScapE_j9@xanga - I agree 100%!
I LOVE Gossip Girl!
Chuck Bass is amazingly gorgeous. :P
And and.
I would probably wear the one Blair is in.
probably blairs
luvluv gossip girl~~ ;]
winter balls are so dreamy. too bad its not a popular thing to do here in vegas -___-
None of these :(
have you all noticed how serena's clothes are ALL exposing??? it is rather too much for a senior high school girl. I mean.. we all know she has pretty bust shape/size, but isnt CW doing too much in terms of making her look half-naked?? hated her dress.
I love the Pink dress - but Blair's dress definitely suits me more - not so puffy
I like vanessas or blairs - that kind of dress would go best with my body type
that lump of coal dress was horrid, but i adore the cupcake dress. I actual plan on wearing one like it to my sorority formal
Who makes Vanessas Dress? as in what designer?
I like Blair's dress the best :)
I would have worn Blair's dress.
I definately liked Blair's dress the best. I just love the tight boddice and the flared out look.
I also like how she described what kind of woman Chuck Bass went for. I think she said "Educated but not bookish" or "Intellegent but not bookish". Definately how I want to be.
