Need Some Extra Face Time?
Guest blog submitted by two_days_until_forever
Don't tell me you haven't heard anything about this effective and popular drugstore scrub. I see it everywhere -- even Eva Mendes has dropped its name. If you have been living under a rock (just kidding) or somehow unaware of this product, just go out and buy it now. Trust me on this one.
I like to use the scrub before I wash my face. I feel that this helps remove nastiness from my pores so that my cleanser can better penetrate my skin. Plus, the scrub can be a little hard to completely take off with water. I always find a few particles remaining on my face, which my cleanser will then take care of.
Facial scrubs in general are recognized for their ability to remove dead skin cells and give your skin a fresh glow. Many are a little harsh, where you can only use them twice a week. St. Ives Apricot Scrub is gentle enough for you to use every day. The scrub beads do not irritate the skin at all.
Personally, I do not like apricots, but the wonderful results for my skin are enough for me to stay around. The scrub is available in three different lines from St. Ives - Invigorating (for normal skin), Blemish Control (for oily/acne prone skin), and last but not least, Aging Skin. Choose whichever scrub you feel will best accommodate your personal skin type.
What facial cleanser do you use? Do you find that a lot of them are too tough on your skin?

I've tried that before years agooooo! Never on my face though because that made me break out. It's good for the occasional pimple on your back. And no, don't tell me you never had one lol bance!
I love Clean and Clear products. It's not too harsh on my skin. I love Morning Burst.
Now I just use proactiv... sometimes.. lol
YES...I'm SO tickled..finally a product I know something about! I use mine almost every day, sometimes twice a day. Also, I just tried the Biore warm up mask that heats up with water. I absolutely LOVE it! It's like $6.29 for 8 packs but I love it! It rocks!
i used to like it a long time ago before they reformulated it. i don't like the smell of it now >_<
Oh, I also wanted to say that I tried it in the bathtub this morning on my arms and legs. It worked fabulously..great for the cracked elbows and feet. And wow on the hands, too, it works fabulously. I would love to be done daily in this all over my body. Just gives me a rush, lol!
I mostly just use proactiv.
Xo
I absolutely love this stuff. it works wonders on my skin, but I only use it once a week so I can let my face restore it's natural oils.
you can also use it on other parts of your body. my arms and legs are soooooooooooo soft and smooth and look great & glowy after exfoliating them with this stuff. like over the summer, my friends would be tempted to touch my legs and would be so surprised at how smooth they were. Let's just say I was the envy of the girls at the pool, haha. ^^
I used to use tons of products but right now i throw on a basic clay mask...wash it off and then use the neutrogena Wave vibrating scrubby thing. You just replace the pads and they are soft and the cleanser is gentle so it does not irritate me and it feels clean ...you can see the dirt on the pad...then i throw on a light moisturizer with a little salicylic acid or benzoyle peroxide in it....i love the Wave...:)
I use Mary Kay's 3 in one cleanser. I like it and how it feels on my skin. It leaves my face nice and soft, especially when used with the Mary Kay moisturizer.
I honestly don't know how anyone can benefit from that scrub! Its terrible, and even if your skin looks great on the surface, its likely causing some serious abrasions that you cant see.
I use clean and clear. I have used, proactive, neutrogena, etc... Yet, nothing gets rid of my blackheads!
i use that scrub right therrreee. i love it, except when my skin is irritated (allergies maybe) --it just makes it x239482394 worse.
omg i use this! it really gets rid of my blackheads!
but my acne stays the same
btw, does anyone know what product i can use for my acne? ive tried EVERYTHING! like seriously
proactive, acne free, neutrogena, and even tomatoes !
but nothing works =/
I use that one of the one from Biore. I haven't encounter one that's too harsh for my skin yet.
@purpleroyalty@xanga - birth control pills? lol
that's the only thing that got my acne under control. i'm no longer on the pill and i rarely ever get break outs now.
do you get paid to advertise these products?
@purpleroyalty@xanga - clearasil ultra helps get rid of acne:)
@purpleroyalty@xanga - I tried apple cider vinegar and saw a decent difference. I got more hormonal acne. More often than not it was cystic. So yeah, give acv a shot. But make sure you use it with water. Do a google search on it and you'll probably find some more info.
That scrub actually caused more breakouts for me and didn't help with blackheads at all because it really irritated my skin. I use AcneFree Oil Free Purifying Cleanser. It has benzoyl peroxide in it, which works better for me than salicylic acid. I used to use the Proactiv Renewing Cleanser, but Proactiv is costly so I just found another cleanser (the AcneFree one) with the same/similar ingredients and used it and I actually got even better results for a lesser price :)
For those who think Proactiv is a "miracle," it really isn't. They just put benzoyl peroxide in the majority of their products. Benzoyl peroxide is like salicylic acid, just works better for those of us who get little results in using salicylic acid.
i use this! i love it :)
@ImSoAzNwAsHeD@xanga - No I wouldn't think so.
It's just a review post
Yeah, I use mostly Bioré products..Clearasil cleansing pads, but that's it.
I've thought about using that St.Ives stuff..H'rm.
I use Mary Kay's Velocity face wash, and Clean & Clear Morning Glow moisturizer. I don't really use masks or anything. My skin stays pretty clear, so I don't mess with it much.
I used the apricot scrub years ago, when I was a teenager, but I think it's different now.
i loooove this stuff
@ImSoAzNwAsHeD@xanga - No, I just give my unbiased opinion about products I have used or currently use. I've given negative ones before too!
The apricot scrub makes my face really red and dry. I use Cetaphil face wash for sensitive skin.
