By Iris@Lovelyish I'll give credit where credit is due. Victoria's Secret has a lot of great things. However, most items cost an arm and a leg, and am I the only one who finds their underwear uncomfortable? Their smaller sizes don't cover all that was ordained to me at birth, and their larger sizes are too big. What's a girl to do?
I recently switched to Aerie. I love their boy shorts. There are a lot of different styles, and they tend to come in really fun colors. I still get my bras at Victoria's Secret, but that's it.
Where do you guys shop for your intimate apparel? Do you go for design or comfort?

Haha.
After reading a lot of the lovelyish material, I'm not sure I could ever be part of the team because like with underwear, for me it's Wal-Mart, mainly because I do not have the time to go to the fancy smancy places in Knoxville, 30 miles away from us. I sure wish I had the time to find the perfect eyeliners, et cetera, just right for me, but I don't...work too much, lol, :) Don't get me wrong, I'm still cute, lol, :), but just wished I could customize for myself in all departments like ya'll seem to on here, :)
Hey, I would love to know if you have any redhead women, especially those with green eyes and a pale face like mine, and what items they use, especially lip color, eyeliner, etc. You do know, we are an elite group, lol, :) We just sometimes get left out, :(
ALways love your posts. Though I may not be able to get as involved with the beauty realm, I love to read about it from ya'lls experiences, :)
...now that I think about it, the only bras I own are either from Victoria's Secret or JCPenney (they have a very comfortable line of bras that aren't Wal-Mart cheap but don't cost more the rest of my outfit). Maybe I should learn to branch out!
I normally go to VS for bras because they are the only place that I can find my size for a decent price. But I did check out the aerie site and they do have a few cute things in my size. I like VS cotton panties but I've bought cute stuff at Walmart and Target as well. I have a pattern for undies that I want to try but I'm stocked up on undies at the moment so they are on the back burner til after my Christmas sewing is done.
pretty much all my underwear and bras are from aerie now... discovered it last year and i love them.
All my bras are from VS and my undies are a mix of VS and Target.
Some of the styles at Victoria's are a bit uncomfortable.
I love Aerie, love their underwear. Same here, panties at Aerie and bras at Victoria's Secret.
I love Aerie, Victoria's secret and for that really something special sometimes Frederick's of Hollywood.
I shop at Victoria's Secret. I don't have any sizing issues.
@JUSTAVAPORHERE@xanga - Hey there! I have green eyes and fair skin, and I just dyed my hair (black) red. It is not as rich of a hue as yours is, but I try lol. I speak for all of the Lovelyish members when I say that we very much appreciate that you enjoy reading our site. That's so nice to hear!
There is no lovelyish type, so I hope you reconsider the feeling that you can't write for us. I don't think we customize as much as we try things that intrigue us, and ask others what they've been thinking/trying as well.
I wish I could give more make-up advice, but it's not quite my forte. For eyeliner, when I do wear it, I use Maybelline's eyeliner in black. Erica recently wrote a post on it -- check it out. For lipstick, I usually just go with chapstick (it's cold outside!). My friend also recommended Origins Liquid Lip Color. I use #08, Wild Flower, and absolutely love it. I hope that helps!
Regards,
Iris
I just get anything from anywhere that I find cute. Kohl's, Aero, Victoria's Secret (if there is a sale), JCPenney, Target.
I really don't care unless it is comfortable, and cute.
i like aerie too...
and i also like h&m's :)
i LOVE victoria's secret! that place is like my second home, haha. i actually think they have the most comfortable underwear, but maybe that's because i have a small bottom. sad :(. just kidding, but i really do love their underwear. and im not rolling in money either, so i always shop at the semi-annual sale where bra's cost only 15-20 dollars. i think thats a pretty good investment, because unlike other bra's, victoria's secret bras are very hardy. they tend to hold their shape and form better than other bras. as for the underwear, i only go for the pink underwears. im not a fan of lace or frills, so simply cotton is the best :)
wal.mart. I've heard good things about Aerie & VS, but yea...dont have the cash or the patience to make a special trip. Perhaps some day i'll binge on some, but yea..
Ugh. Aerie and VS fucking SUCK. They don't stock my size, or anything even remotely close.
I do like Frederick's on occasion, but I mostly do department store or online shopping. Dilliards is great for sizing!
Panties are a little less selective. I have some from VS, and from pretty much everywhere else, too.
ttiuwp
Hm, I don't have anything from aerie, I'll have to go and look..Though I have many friends that say VS "has really nice bras."
=)
I think VS is extremely uncomfortable.
I love aerie! I think we are in the same boat when we have a disproportionately large behind. I own 4 pairs of boy shorts from aerie and they are so comfortable!
i usually buy w/e i find is cute or cheap. nothing too expensive like victoria secret. & you're right. buying stuff there is like giving an arm or a leg. although i'm not going to lie...i'll splurge once in a very looong while and buy something there. i've never tried aerie though. i've seen it but didn't know if it was any good. i think i'm going to try it.
Victoria's Secret. I only buy the only sale stuff, and I try to take advantage of their sales/coupons/special offers/etc. You're right, it is quite expensive there, but I never really found Aerie's stuff appealing to me.
I usually go to walmart, DON'T GO THERE! You get what you pay for. If you buy the cheap stuff, you get cheap crap. I have never bought a bra from there that fit well. I have a hard time finding anything to fit me right. Also don't buy intimate stuff off line. You never know if it'll fit you!
When I was gonna get a corset for my reenactments I got one from Fredrick's of Hollywood when they were having a sale. It fit me very well. So I would imagine they're other stuff is of good quality.
American Eagle! I love it, but Victoria's Secret? Not so much. I bought five black bikinis there. They don't cover everything, don't fit right and are too thin.Oh did I mention that they struggle to survive the wash?
I always go to Victoria's Secret for bras. I find them comfortable and for some reason, i find it easier to find my bra size (32B) there than in other stores. I usually get my panties from there too because of the "5 for $25" deal, but I do understand how their boyshorts fit kind of weird. i haven't tried Aerie but it does look really cute and comfortable :]
@JUSTAVAPORHERE@xanga - I'm a redhead and I'm another avid Walmart shopper. As far as makeup products are concerned, I've learned that less is more with our skin tone. I tend to stick to Maybelline brown eye shadows and the Cinnamint lip gloss from Victoria's Secret. As far as foundation and stuff like that goes, I use TruBlend. It seems to work fairly well for my skin.
victoria secret! their underwear is superrr cute<3 I like aeries underwear as well. but for bras I don't care if its cute, comfy, cheap, and fits me nicely, I'll get it
