Wigs are in Vogue
Guest blog submitted by The_Prestigiator
Back in the day, wigs used to be reserved for two occasions -- Halloween and unrealistic undercover detective work as seen on most sitcoms.
Still, the world of hair beauty has changed drastically. Nowadays, it's all about wigs and sporting one for kicks is far from taboo.
Wigs have become high in demand for curious folk and those with medical reasons alike. You can definitely tell just from the bunch of wig lines that have been sprouting up all over the place! Let's see...there's the Revlon Premiere wig line, the Amore Designer Wigs, Katour Line Designer Wig Collection, and, oh yes, the Patti LaBelle line. And that's just counting a few.
Why wear a wig? Perhaps health reasons motivate you. Perhaps you have short hair and wish for long, flowing locks, or perhaps you want to tie back your long hair and attend a party with a shorter chic style. Maybe you're sick of that stick straight hair and desire a big, explosive mop. And maybe, since we're all not like Tonks from Harry Potter, we are happy with our hair color but want to test out a new bold one to add a dash of flavor. Care for raven, blond, or hot pink? Wig collections have them all.
I've had a bunch of friends wear them out for a night on the town. They were bored with their structured look and wanted to let loose. I've had a friend even wear one to a concert just so when she glanced back at photos she could enjoy a good laugh over her purple bob. Even Miss Tyra Banks uses them to change up her look without taking a more permanent route.
Like it or not wigs are here to stay. The question is, would you ever wear one? Long, short, purple, pink -- what would this wig look like?

I would never wear a wig. Maybe on Halloween. Fake hair creeps me out.
nopes
I think it could be interesting. but good ones can get expensive and it wouldn't know the first thing about its upkeep. coloured ones would be a neat way to try a colour without killing your hair!
I would go to a wig store to try on wigs for potential new hair cuts. Other than that, I'll pass. [:
Said Never as well until I tried one on, and it actually looked elegant on me. (Not the halloween crazy color ones, but the natural looking ones). I also wanted to try the custom ones Tyra, and other celebs uses (lace front). It looks great. We will see...
nah not for me.
i would never. it would probably feel heavy... and what if my scalp started itching?? what would i do??
No, not a fan really.
I have a half wig, and many hair pieces. They are great, when you just don't want to do anything with your hear, or if your having a bad hair day -eek!
no i would never wear a wigg. i dont even like the hair pieces
the idea of having fake hair whenn i have mu own just creeps me outt
I don't have any desire to wear a wig. Maybe on Halloween or something like that - but not being serious. I never got the whole wig idea.
So when a single girl wears a wig out and the guy of her dreams takes one look at her and falls madly in love...what happens when she takes the wig off? Kind of changes the whole "love at first sight" thing huh!
But seriously...I would feel ridiculously silly having fake hair on top of my real hair. I understand people who are sick and lose their hair. But I am thankful I am healthy enough to have the hair God gave me...even though it might not look wonderful every day!
I love wigs.
While I have beautiful hair of my own, sporting one and going out in public is just so much fun. Be it natural reds to blonds to pink. It really helps when you're going for a certain look or style. I mostly wear them b/c I do photoshoots or dress up for conventions. But I've always enjoyed wearing them without a specific reason.
Exs of wigs i wear:

I have an electric blue bob wig that I wear every year for Spirit Day at school. Its fun and its really not that uncomfortable even though its a cheap one.
Funniest this was when my friends started calling it my hooker wig... but whatever =) It served well as part of a faerie halloween costume too.
I'd love to have a wig. It's like getting a new hair style without the need to cut or perm or dye your own hair. And you can turn back into your own human hair style anytime.
Also, I tried styling my hair diy, it's tiring and, I figure it out that it's much easier and nicer if i use a wig instead.
Yet, wig are expensive items, can be pricy to keep it in good condition.
I have a vast collection of wigs. I can change to color of my hair in a few seconds without doing any damage to my hair.
My grandma wears a wig, just a different one on Halloween.
Wow, Jen looks cool
I would get a lady GAGA one!
I do not think I would every wear a wig outside of Halloween.
Yessssss I would. I'll like to have a purple bob and long red locks.
I most likely would wear one. Though I must admit, I love change plenty and often just dye my hair all sorts colours or cut it real short or put some extensions in.
no, i would only wear one if i got sick and lost my real hair...and if that did happen (knock on wood) then my wig would just look like my hair now
Why not? I think wigs could be really fun. I think some people could make them work more than others, but that's just like any other fashion statement. I think people just have a bad idea of wigs from cheap Halloween costumes and they'd be surprised by how nice some wigs can be. I think a lot more celebrities wear wigs than you'd probably think, too.
eww....i can never wear a wig. I like my hair and it's better to just dye or highlight your natural hair to the color you want
if i were to wear a wig it would be in my hair color except fuller because my hair is kinda thin.
