Last week, I wrote a review on Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I also mentioned how I have been trying to stop using Proactiv. Since I loved the concentrate so much, I decided to try a whole new routine from Kiehl’s to see how my skin would react. So for a a little over a week, I have ditched my Proactiv and started this new routine. Over that time, my skin has not broken out and is less oily, less dry and overall looks better. I can not stop telling people how much I love Kiehl’s. I have been using Proactive for almost five years and every time I try something new, my face reacts and I break out like crazy. This is the first time that my skin has not only not reacted, but has improved. This is what I have been using in the morning and at night:
To start, I wash with the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. I chose this cleanser because I was looking to incorporate more natural ingredients into my skin care routine. It is made with Amazonian White Clay, Oat Kernel Meal, Aloe Barbadensis (from an aloe plant) and Diatomaceous Earth Particles that removes dirt and oil and reduces enlarged pores. It is a very gentle exfoliator that can be used in both the morning and the evening.
After towel drying, I dampen a cotton ball with Rare Earth Refining Tonic to tone my face. This removes any excess dirt and oil. It also helps reduce oil throughout the day and minimize the appearance of pores.
Next, I apply two to three drops of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate in my hand and gently massage it into my skin.
When choosing a moisturizer, I always lean towards one for anti-aging because I was a tanning obsessed high school student and am paranoid that I ruined my skin forever. I chose the Super Multi-Corrective Cream because it is an anti-aging moisturizer that is good for sensitive skin. It is also paraben and fragrance free.
After everything is soaked in, I apply the Micro-Blur Skin Perfector. This product is made to lessen the appearance of pores and refine your skin’s texture. It really helps make my skin look healthier especially on days when I do not wear makeup.
Lastly, I apply Midnight Recovery Eye to my under eye area. It has similar ingredients as the Midnight Recovery Concentrate and since I am so obsessed with that, I figured I would love this too.
Lovelies, have you changed up your skincare routine recently? If so, what are you using?
