Yes, you’re on the right path to making a smart meal choice, but some salads can end up being worse for you than a Big Mac at McDonald’s! Make some of these swaps so that you’re on your way to a healthier salad.
On the outside, salads seem like a nice, healthy meal but once you pack them with enough junk, it gets to be less like a salad and more like a high fat and sugar meal with lettuce on the bottom. Don’t justify yourself putting unlimited toppings of any sort on your salad solely because you’re eating a salad. So Lovelies, I dare you to swap the good in for the bad.
Use whole wheat pita, ditch croutons.
Use grilled chicken, ditch fried chicken.
Use extra virgin olive oil and vinegar, ditch creamy dressings.
Use almonds/cashews, ditch candied nuts.
