Let’s face it, with all the royal baby news surrounding the youngest potential heir to England’s throne, the world has quickly become besotted with “Royal Fever.” Instead of dressing up your baby to look like the future king, why not treat yourself to a few nights of living like royalty? If you’ve ever dreamed of living out your prince or princess fantasies that just happen to include fantastic meals in a truly getaway worthy destination, grab a reservation at one of these unique palaces where you can truly dine like a royal.

1. Peckforton Castle, England

Dining at Peckforton Castle is truly a special occasion. Built in 1844 in the style of a medieval castle, the beautiful palace and its grounds are located at the north end of the Peckforton Hills in Cheshire, England. Their 1851 Restaurant, holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award, treats diners to a variety of delectable menu items featuring carefully selected, locally-grown produce. Where better to experience a truly authentic, stately dinner than in a country where the royalty is instrumental throughout the nation’s history.

2. Hotel Burg Wernberg, Germany

The Burg Wernberg castle is one of the best-preserved castles in all of Bavaria; its ancestral heritage dating back to the early 12th century. Since 1998, the castle-hotel entrances guests with its Gothic charm and contemporary cuisine. Grand Chef Thomas Kellermann has created a sophisticated menu that showcases vegetables, herbs, spices, and regional ingredients, including game from the nearby forests.

3. Castel Monastero, Italy

Built sometime during the eleventh cenutry, Castel Monastero and its surrounding medieval village are dedicated to the art of Italian hospitality. Its gourmet restaurants, “Contrada” and “La Cantina,” both led by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, highlight the true essence of Tuscan and Italian cuisine. Combining the quaint historical significance of Tuscany with tasty Italian cuisine (my favorite!) makes this one place I would truly love to visit at least once in my life.

4. Hotel Schloss Fuschl Resort and Spa, Austria

Hotel Schloss Fuschl Resort and Spa, a fairy-tale chateau situated on a peninsular in Lake Fuschl was built in 1450 as a hunting lodge and used as the summer residence of the archbishops of Salzburg. Nestled in Austria’s “Sound of Music” Salzkammergut region, 20 minutes from Mozart’s birthplace, the historic Schloss Fuschl, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, features four dining options and an on-site winery. The whole place just makes me want to twirl around and sing the entire Sound of Music soundtrack.

5. The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Canada

Built in 1888, the sprawling estate is located in the scenic Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada. With eight dining options and a wine bar to choose from, you’re guaranteed to dine like a king or queen at the Fairmont Banff Springs. Featuring basically any cuisine, whether it be Canadian, Italian, Bavarian, Japanese, or even health-conscious options such as gluten-free, macrobiotic, raw, and vegan, you definitely won’t leave this castle-hotel hungry. And after a long day of skiing, a full stomach is the best thing in the world.

Lovelies, have you ever dined like royalty?
