Since I’ve made the move to Dallas, I’ve been trying tons of new things. And I must say, it’s pretty fantastic. This summer has been a pretty adventurous time in my life, and it’s actually made this summer the best summer yet! Here are a few things that I’ve tried recently that really helped make my summer a little more awesome.

I’ve shared my appreciation for chia seed drinks on Lovelyish recently, but I just can’t get enough of these things! The Mamma Chia raspberry flavor is my favorite — it’s a great way to get some energy before or after a run or workout, or anytime you need a little jolt. Since it’s also packed with protein, it keeps you full and happy for quite a while. You can probably find this at your local health grocer, Whole Foods or Central Market. I’ll be honest, I didn’t like Lacroix water when I first tried it — but then I realized that there are a ton of flavors, and I should probably try them all before I give up hope. The coconut Lacroix taste like summer in a can. So, so good and so inexpensive! You should also try the grapefruit flavor. You can find local retailers that carry it here.
Okay Lovelies, I’m obsessed with Hope Spicy Avocado Hummus. I’ve tried just about every hummus brand available in Texas, and I’ve found The One. I seriously go through about 4 tubs of this hummus per week. And I would probably go through more if it weren’t for my boyfriend and his ‘Babe, are you sure you just want to eat this for dinner again?’ What can I say, I’m a creature of habit. I’ve made all of my friends try this stuff, even the ones that don’t like hummus and/or avocado, and they all love it. I’ve found it at Whole Foods and Central Market. You can see who else carries this magical stuff here. It’s all-natural, organic, gluten-free and kosher!
My mornings lately have been insane. I’ve been working at my part-time job every day and checking in on the blog whenever I’m not at work, so it’s just been go, go, go lately. It’s so bad that I find myself craving coffee, but I don’t even have time to brew some and wait for it to cool down! I decided to try Chameleon Cold Brew after hearing a few friends talk about it, and I’m already on my fourth (large) bottle since last week. It’s the perfect way to get your iced coffee fix in a short time, since all that you have to do is mix it with some water and go! Typically I don’t like ranch dressing very much. To be honest, eating it kind of makes me feel guilty because most of the time, it’s packed with chemicals and a ton of fat. In a moment of salad and hormonal desperation, I decided to try this Simply Dressed dressing at my local Tom Thumb and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was made with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and canola oil, and free of preservatives, trans fat, high fructose corn syrup, added MSG or artificial flavors. They also have a lighter version. Score! While I don’t plan on going crazy with the ranch dressing anytime soon, it’s good to know that I can enjoy a little bit in a healthier way. Okay, you guys are probably going to laugh at me, but I had no idea that zucchini was so good until this summer. If you’re ever craving something buttery while you’re trying to eat healthier, don’t go all Paula Deen on me yet. Zucchini is a great way to get your buttery fix without hating yourself later — simply slice some up with a little bit of olive oil and garlic, and you have a great buttery snack or side! I’ve been going through zucchini lately like it’s nothing. Oh, and it has some great health benefits.
