As I’m sure you could tell, allergy season is upon us. Sneezing, watery and itchy eyes are just some of the fun things that we get to endure for the next several weeks, but did you know that allergies can enhance your dark circles? Since I already have really bad genetically induced dark circles, this is really bad news. I’m definitely going to be taking the following super effective steps to reduce my dark circles!

Chow down on citrus fruits for an extra burst of vitamin C, which helps banish dark circles. This beloved vitamin helps strengthen collagen which in turn lifts the sunken areas in your face, eliminating shadowy areas.

Apply a brightening under eye concealer in the shape of an inverted triangle under the eye. Obviously, you’ll be covering all the darkness under your eyes, but this innovative application helps lift the entire face. Don’t believe me? It’s the go-to trick of makeup artist Trish McEvoy.

Apply a bit of something shimmery under the eye, over your concealer. It can be a dab of a cream highlighter or a shimmery eyeshadow anywhere from beige to peach to gold. The reflective particles help catch the light and brighten everything up.

Find an eye cream that contains caffeine to instantly deflate puffiness and perk up tired skin. Garnier’s Skin Rewnew Anti Puff Eye Roller is a crowd pleaser! [via Glamour]

Lovelies, what do you do to reduce your dark circles?
