If you haven’t seen ‘Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains‘ you are missing out. Big time. Diane Lane is so incredible in this film. She goes through three distinct fashion changes in the movie, and somehow, she pulls off all of them.
The film is the story of two teenage sisters (dealing with the death of their mother), and their cousin chasing the dream of being famous rockers and learning how to cope with stardom, loss and betrayal. Diane plays Corrine Burns, a feisty, driven and angsty teen who just wants to play music and distrust the world. She finds out that success and fame can be fleeting, especially when they are gained more through scandal and infamy than actual talent (they have a serious following of girls who dress just like them called ‘skunks’)
‘Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains‘ has become a cult classic with a loyal fan base due to a few punk royalty cameos throughout the film (awesome). It really is a good movie, and totally empowering. Corrine starts her performances by saying “We’re The Stains, and we don’t put out.”
Diane Lane is a style icon on her own, but this movie really put her over the top for me. Initiate girl crush.
I highly suggest you at least check out the trailer.
