I’ve been seeing flower crowns all over the place lately, and since I’ve been on a bit of a vintage kick lately, I did a little searching and sound some pretty amazing flower-adorned hair from the ’60s. Some of these are obviously for editorial spreads while others are just the real deal. I love them all, especially Nancy Sinatra‘s wavy, flower strands above. Check them out after the cut.
I’m in love with this photograph of Pamela Des Barres; as if her life isn’t interesting enough, this flower crown takes the cake… and with her hair color! It’s so beautiful.
I love chunky, shiny braids like this one on Sharon Tate, especially since my hair is finally long enough to make longer braids. This is actually a style that I’d consider wearing, especially for a fun day at the lake or a weekend music festival. It adds a fun touch without going too over the top… like flowers for a wallflower. (Har har.)
I can’t even. You go Jean Shrimpton, you go. While this isn’t exactly a flower crown, I felt that this just had to be included; I’m in love with Vogue‘s photo spreads from the 1960s… they’re so colorful and creative.
