Sometimes I wish I could just pay someone to dress me all spring because the awkward transitional period seems nearly impossible to dress for. I layer my clothes, but I hate carrying around jackets if it’s too warm. Then half of the time, it rains. Then I’m wet and cold and unhappy because I decided to not bring a jacket because it was warm when I left the house.

I also have to actually match pieces together into some sort of cohesive outfit — a black sweater and jeans just don’t cut it anymore. Then my room is a mess of bright colors and patterns like there was a technicolor explosion. I like to appear put-together — even though in my head I’m like hahahahahahaha, yeah right — but now it’s even tougher to do so. I don’t need that kind of stress.

Spring fashion is cute and quirky and lovely, but I’m totally driving the spring style struggle bus. I like to think I know how to dress myself but it’s tricky when the weather is seriously all over the place. While we all know some fashion dos — cute rain-wear, floral prints, colorful pieces and accessories — what are some trends to avoid?

Check out the gallery below for some helpful tips and tricks for dressing for that confusing weather. [via Stylelist]
