I feel like all I can talk about it is how much winter sucks, and how hopeful I am for spring. New York is making it really difficult to say seasonally posi. It is DAMN cold, bleak, freezing, blustery… just… NO. My Texan blood is NOT cut out for this.

Do I have the winter blahs? The winter blues? The winter bluuuugghhssss? Most definitely. Am I alone? Absolutely not.

December and January were a bit rough, but at least I had the holidays to see me through. I honestly felt like February chewed me up, spit me out, and now here I am approaching the second week of March in the midst of a total winter blues rut.

Times like this call for hitting the holistic hard stuff. Sounds witchy but it totally works. I found this amazing article on Into The Gloss discussing the benefits of many all natural remedies to overcome these trying times.

An amazing first line of defense is soaking in an epsom salt bath. Obviously sitting in hot bath for a hot minute is gonna leave you feeling more relaxed, but epsom salt relive pain and stiffness. Something about frigid weather leave my bones feeling rigid, so this is a perfect solution.

If tea can’t bring you relief, then you probably need to see a doctor! In my book, tea cures all. After a rough and ragged day navigating the big city and braving the cold, there’s nothing like a hot chamomile tea to soothe my nerves and help me sleep soundly for the next day.

Lemon Balm works wonders for soothing anxiety, boosts your mood and keeps you focused amidst at winter blues-like haze.

If the sun isn’t shining, you just have to make do with a vitamin D supplement. It’s not as fun, but it may prevent a whole slew of horrible mood disorders, so it’s worth a shot.

Lovelies, what do you do to prevent the winter blues?
