It’s Saturday night, you spent a lifetime getting ready ensuring your eyeliner is 100% straight and that your complexion is polished to perfection. You’re out with your friends, feeling like a million bucks and knowing that you look it. That is, until, you take a quick bathroom break and realize your mascara is smudged halfway down your face and you have lipstick on your teeth. How long has it been there??! Why did no one tell you?!? Never again will this be you if you pack a beauty emergency kit.
It is so irritating to be out and about and then realize you have some janky chipped nail snagging on your hair or sweater. This mini nail file has saved me a ton of frustration.
2. Compact Pop Up Brush
I love this because it is a mirror/brush combo. Do I even have to explain why this is useful?
I think a huge part of avoiding beauty emergencies is taking time to just check up on the status of your face in a mirror every hour or so. It’s not vain, it’s just smart! I can’t tell you how many important conversations I would have had with spinach in my teeth if I didn’t utilize my mirror.
3. Lip Balm In A Squeeze Tube
The squeeze tube part is the important thing here. Sure it’s lip balm when you’re looking a lil crusty, but you can also squeeze a bit out and apply it to dry cuticles, tap a bit on the tops of your cheekbones for an instant glow, or even use a dab on super dry ends of your hair.
4. Travel Tweezers
My friends always make fun of me for this one, but I stand strongly by my travel tweezers. Have you ever checked yourself out in the mirror to suddenly notice you have a thick, coarse, black hair growing where it is not supposed to? Surely I’m not the only one to fall victim to this. I’ll find them in the strangest places. The eyebrow area is an obvious one, but I’ve found them on my cheeks, chin, growing out of a beauty mark… yikes. Trust me, the tweezers are a good, good thing.
God bless em. I carry a little travel pack of q-tips with me and make sure to keep that sucker fully stocked. Q-tips can be utilized to wipe away smudged mascara or eyeliner, get foundation or eyeshadow out of creases, pick eye boogers, clean lipstick off of your teeth. The possibilities are endless, as is my gratitude for my cotton tipped little friends.
6. Blotting Papers
They absorb shine without moving your makeup…. ’nuff said.
7. Bobby Pins
Tame a sagging up-do or create a cute little half-up number if your bangs are misbehaving. Is there anything like the relief of finding a bobby pin in the midst of a hair mishap?
I know it sounds like a lot, but I can easily fit all of these items into a cute little clutch. Just keep these items on hand, plus whatever lip color you’re wearing for touch ups and I can guarantee a significant reduction (if not altogether avoidance) of beauty emergencies!
Lovelies, what do you keep in your beauty emergency kit?
