Marion Cotillard is typically a bold, edgy red carpet dresser, and now with her position as the face of Dior, she’s elevated her level of style to new heights worthy of that title.
The actress demonstrated her new found passion for high style at the BAFTA Awards this past weekend wearing a look from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Dior runway collection. Marion Cotillard was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Rust and Bone.
The super bright yellow dress featured a sort of pouf in the front that partially masked an illusion panel that hit just at the thigh and gave the dress a tiered look. Cotillard kept the rest of her look simple and clean, accessorizing with a two-strand diamond necklace, black heels, and a bold, red lip. The illusion panel gave an unexpected flash of skin in the front and a swath of thigh across the back.
Personally, I like Cotillard’s daring Haute Couture choice with a few qualifications. I think the color is awesome, especially on this dreary, rainy day and the dress is definitely something unusual and daring for a red carpet, especially for an awards ceremony of this size. I don’t mind the pouf, and I like the touch of skin in the front, however, I think the sheer panel in the back reads a little more trashy than avant garde. Despite that, I commend her on not going for the boring option and playing it safe like many of her fellow actresses do when it comes to big events. Marion Cotilliard has been doing an amazing job as the face of Dior and I can’t wait to see what she wears next!
What do you Lovelies think of this neon yellow Dior? Do you like the sexy hint of thigh or think it’s too much for the BAFTAs? What’s your favorite part of the dress or what would you change about it?

Looks like a wardrobe malfunction from behind.

The whole style just so awkward haha… but I love the yellow.

Hit. This was my favourite look from the BAFTAs. I love that Marion anticipated a dreary, rainy London day and instead of going with a flowing black gown she picked a structured, modern gown in a colour bright enough to shine through the rainclouds. I’ll admit, I think it looks better from the front.

Well this looks…interesting.

Sooo close…but a miss. It’s not even the colour that offends me, it’s the stupid cut out B.S.

from the front, it looks very cute but the back is so odd…i think it’s a miss. and the material seems weird too.

it looks like it’s falling apart in the back lol. At first glance I thought it was xD
