Is anyone else freaked out by the fact that Kanye West is going to be a father? I’m not sure if I was super worried until I saw his new concert get-up from a performance in Abu Dhabi.
He was wearing a straitjacket, which was accompanied by remarks on how many times he’s been called “crazy.” No, because wearing a straitjacket on stage certainly isn’t crazy.
It’s true that other artists have worn straitjackets in videos or on magazine covers (Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Alice Cooper, Lil Wayne, 2Pac), but they never wore it during a performance.
Not only does a straitjacket restrict your movements — how are you supposed to dance?! — it’s just kind of creepy. I know he was making a statement and all, but maybe it’s time to stop interrupting Taylor Swift’s speeches and wearing leather kilts and focusing on baby Kimye.
I can appreciate that he was trying to say…something, maybe trying to up the shock factor, but I think now he’s just getting a little too strange for my taste.
Hey, maybe that’s just me. I wouldn’t mind him getting back to his College Dropout days. He’s got talent, but I could do without the straitjacket, leather kilt, bedazzled masks, etc. etc.
West has said that he’s “not crazy,” he’s simply “not satisfied.” In any case, I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ve seen of his bizarre antics.

Sorry, I am still off by Lady GaGa’s meat dress. . . strait jacket is kinda tame and I hope he didn’t wear it long. Who know? He likes the attention I am assuming. He could have got some help mentally but then he wouldn’t sell records. Say what you will and disagree with me but many of these celebs are crazy and don’t do anything about it. Case in point- Charlie Sheen. Do you see anything about his tame brother Emilio Estevez? Nope. Why? He is sane and taking care of his family and not out there. The fact that I wrote so much about this nonsense is a damn shame in itself. If we have a problem with his attitude stop buying his music, don’t request his music on the radio. If all his fans did that he would drink a glass of STFU and then we would have to find someone else to talk about. #thatisall

Is it bad I kind of like the name “Kimye”? That’s strange and uniquely cool.. As for the straightjacket, it looks like a sleeping bag, but the cool thing about being on stage is that you can do stupid crap like that and your fans will still love you. More power to him, I guess.

I want to add that I’m pretty sure he ripped it off, too, although I have no idea and don’t feel like googling it lol I’m saying this purely because doing a show in a straightjacket would get boring, and I don’t think he’d want to be just standing there during the entirety of the performance. I went to a My Chemical Romance show for the Black Parade album when I was younger, I remember Gerard came out in a straightjacket and stretcher, sang a few bars and then ripped it off and commenced with the show. It was actually pretty cool. I love it when artists put some performance into their music, especially when you’re really not expecting it.

@Lost__In_My_Mind@xanga - I can definitely see Gerard putting those kind of theatrics into one of MCR’s shows over Kanye. For some reason he seems less about the performance and more about the publicity, but I could be wrong. I bet MCR puts on a crazy show.

@rachelhaas - They do! =] Or did. I don’t even know if they’re still together or tour or whatnot, but I’ll have to look into it because I would love to go to another one. I agree with you about Kanye wanting the publicity, though. He reminds me of a kid I once knew with ADHD, who always had to be the center of attention.
