The head designer and creative director for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, is infamous for having the inability to censor himself.
He has a pretty bad habit of making offensive, scathing comments. Most recently the target of his disses was our First Lady herself.
Mr. Lagerfeld was recently quoted as saying, “I don’t understand the new hair. Frankly, I think the fringe was a bad idea. It’s not good.”
Ouch! That has got to hurt. There’s nothing worse than receiving negative feedback when you take a risk and try something new with your style.
I doubt Michelle took this catty comment personally, but I wonder if this will affect her decision when she chooses her designer duds.
Personally, I like her hair! I’m not the biggest fan of bangs simply for the fact I hate them on myself, but I think she can pull them off pretty well.
Lovelies, what do you think of Karl Lagerfelds unsolicited opinions on the Michelle Obama’s new do?

“There’s nothing worse than receiving negative feedback when you take a risk and try something new with your style.”
Nothing worse? Are you sure? Are you absolutely sure there is NOTHING worse than this?
I would suspect that the First Lady will care less about his comment than Lovelyish has, and rightfully so.

I’ve never cared for his colognes. They smell rather cheap as reflected in their cost, not that all inexpensive colognes are cheap smelling. I switch between Ferragamo Fahrenheit, Cartier Santos and Cartier Must De Pour Homme. I don’t wear his clothes either. I’ve always preferred Italian designers. Once while waiting for the walk sign in midtown Manhattan I was whistled at by a few passing girls. I’ve not seen that in NYC before nor since. I was wearing a beautifully understated Armani suit. I also prefer Italian designer ties. They can be expensive but they are works of art. Italians have the market cornered when it comes to flair.
As for the first lady, I like her new bangs and the ruby dress she wore for the inaugural ball was stunning. And I doubt she cares about what Lagerfeld thinks. She’s got more important things on her mind.

The dark prince of fashion?
Maybe he missed the mirror lately, but pretty he AIN’T.
And quite frankly, all he does is SNARK about women.
Why they make him rich is anyone’s guess.

Very typical of him, a snooty bourgeois! I guess it is just a matter of taste. I’m sure Mrs. Obama does not mind, she knows she looks good and most of us can agree. :3

Mehh, that’s just people. A few weeks after I chopped my hair into a pixie cut, a guy I went to high school with was working at the grocery store I shop at, and flagged me down to make small talk. Suddenly he said, “So, when are you going to grow your hair out? I mean, it looks good, it just looked good long.” It made me laugh so hard, because what made him think he had any say whatsoever over my hair? Anyway, point is, some people think their opinions are super important, but whether they’re a baker at a grocery store or Karl Lagerfeld, their opinion is moot because they don’t have to wake up and deal with it every morning.

Nothing wrong with him giving his opinion, and given his career in fashion it’s hardly an unfounded one. If he slobbed over it like everyone else, nobody would be offended he put in his 2 cents. Lagerfeld is a style boss.

Said the same thing when I saw it! Glad I’m not the only one

Mrs. Obama’s reaction should be “Karl who?”

Love the fabulous bangs Michelle !!!!
You just rock !!
What a naturally fabulous; fun; intelligent and personable lady you are !!!
An inspiration and a true touch of class.
Do what you want and have fun with your hair !!!
Its yours after all not Karl Lagerfeld’s !!
Lagerfeld should get that saggy and very untidy old grey mop cut.
Wonder what he would look like with bangs? Could only be an improvement. LOL !!!!
