My husband and I are looking into changing wireless providers, because T-Mobile’s coverage in our city has been pretty terrible for some reason. Even though we have the exact same phone, he consistently has worse service than I do, and even after replacing his SIM card — as T-Mobile suggested — he’s still having issues.
So, if we change providers, we’ll probably also get new phones. There are a lot of cool phones out there that would be way better than what we currently use. My husband can even get a Nokia Lumia for free! But I’m not really wanting an Android device. I’d really like to get an iPhone 4 or 5. And it’s not for the reasons you’d expect. It’s not because I think it’s a way-superior phone to what’s available in the Android arena. It’s not because it has better apps, or is quicker, or takes better pictures.
It’s because of the cases.
I don’t know why big designers only ever make cases for the iPhone, but man, do I want every single one of these Kate Spade numbers:

Loving this Marc by Marc Jacobs one as well:

I’m totally nuts, I know. But why can’t I get these gorgeous cases for the Samsung Galaxy? Or the Nokia Lumia?
Looks like a job for Etsy:

*Note: While it appears that some of these cases are designed for the iPhone, they are also available for Samsung Galaxy phones — the sellers just haven’t included photos of the prints on a Galaxy phone, for some reason.*
While they don’t have the same “designer” appeal as my favorite iPhone cases, these Galaxy cases are still gorgeous. If I end up getting a Samsung Galaxy, I’ll definitely get one of these babies. Actually, I would get one of these lovelies even if I do end up getting the iPhone. They’re that adorable.
Either way, you could always bypass the long search for a cute Galaxy case and use your own photo:

Finding a unique case for the Lumia proved a bit more challenging than finding one for the Galaxy, though, since the only hard cases were variations of this:

It’s just not my taste.
Lovelies, do you use phone cases? Which one is your favorite?

I have an Otterbox on mine, and while it is rather bulky, I’ve dropped my phone onto concrete several times and haven’t had any problems :)

Ha, that’s a good point, I drop my phone all the time, too!

I only have like one option with the phone I have. But it does come in black or white. LOL

if only the pretty cases were durable enough to actually protect your phone if you did drop it

My phone case isn’t “pretty” but it really helps me with my hobby of making internet OC. I have a DiffCase! It basically puts a front and back lid on my iPhone while leaving the lens completely unaffected. Now why would a front and back lid be so cool? Well, I say it’s because it also lets me mount my phone to a camera tripod. As a vlogger/video maker, this helps me a lot. The iPhone 4S has the capability of 1080p HD video and 8MP stills, so, why not let it sit upon my tripod. I wouldn’t have written this comment so long, except for the fact that I LOVE my diffcase.

@olwd@xanga - They are. I’ve dropped mine on concrete several times at work, and my friend had his phone run over by a truck and it didn’t have a scratch on it.

@ask_ashleyyy@xanga - Seriously? A truck drove over his phone? Was this like a small truck or like a large one, like delivery type trucks? They didn’t have anything like that for my Galaxy Note so wasn’t able to get one. But a GF of mine had one on her older Infuse. They do make them bulky, but I suppose if someone tends to drop their phone alot, like, say @isitreal_no@xanga tends to, it would probably be a good investment, since the companies charge so much to get a new phone.

i have an otterbox and it does the job. but i REALLY want/need that old-school brick phone case!

@WorldWideWatchman@xanga - That’s hardcore! Very cool. I am definitely less concerned with protecting my phone than I am with making it look pretty–I guess I have skewed priorities!

@ChristineManke - I’m not a paid sponsor, just someone who likes to share great things (That made me sound like a paid sponsor, didn’t it?). It protects your phone amazingly while you add functionality. They have it in pink too. With the plastic casing, if you got a white one? Imagine what some spray paint and a little bit of creativity could make?
guest
Not that they aren’t cool. But don’t you think that a phone case is one of the shallowest reasons to choose an iPhone over another phone
guest
@Nushirox2@xanga - Totally…that was kind of my point!
guest
@WorldWideWatchman@xanga - Absolutely! I wish I was a better artist, though!
