Single on Valentines Day? Don’t feel the need to wear all black, hate on love, or cry alone in your shower. Valentines Day is about love, not about having a lover. Do you love your mom, your friends, your dog or your wonderful life? Well then good for you, you are officially capable of being happy on Valentines Day!
If you aren’t screaming from the roof tops every other day of the year about how happy you are that you’re single, don’t feel like your required to do so on this one silly day. Instead, get together a group of your best friends and do something fun. If you’re feeling past the age of cooties, feel free to enjoy men! Yes, it’s possible. Although, I’m sure they wouldn’t necessarily want to partake in some of the things I’m about to suggest.
Here are some suggestions of fun and memorable ways to spend your Valentines Day while single…
1) Plan a Potluck Dinner with Friends
Planning a potluck is a perfect way to bring people you love together. Doesn’t hurt that it’s super easy. Invite friends over, asking them to each bring a dish or refreshments. Just make one or two dishes yourself a viola! You have a dinner. If you enjoy decorating and are festive, light some candles, play music you enjoy and purchase cheesy Valentines Day themes plates and cups. If the company is good, then the night will be as well.
2) Do a Wardrobe Exchange
This is a great way to bring on some change to you wardrobe while also getting rid of things that you don’t want/need anymore. Make sure to invite friends whose style you admire! Talk to your friends and decide on a number of items each of you will bring. The more people you invite, the more items you should bring to exchange. Add music and refreshments and you’ve got yourself a wardrobe exchange party.
3) Spa Night with The Girls
If you’re feeling down, what better way to cheer yourself up than with pampering? Invite your girl friends to come over and enjoy a night of manicures, facials, at home skin treatments and a movie. Ask each of your friends to be in charge of one of the treatments so that it isn’t overwhelming for you as a host. This would be a great opportunity to reach out to women who you really enjoy and would like to get closer to!
4) Hit Up The Roller Rink
I know that going to the roller rink sounds kind of lame, but I promise that it is still super fun! Because it’s something most of us, at a certain age, don’t partake in hardly ever, it’s entertaining to engage in activities that are different. If you’re feeling whacky, dress up in a theme of your choice and have at it! Trust me, if you’re too cool to be goofy, you aren’t cool at all. Just sayin’.
5) Host a Game Night
It’s a fact: game nights are pretty much always fun. They are invented for the sole purpose of having an enjoyable time! If you invite more than five people, I’d suggest making sure you have enough people to play two separate games. Apples to Apples, Dominoes, Charades, poker, Circle of Death, Never Have I Ever, whatever! As always, provide refreshments.
Happily single or happily coupled, I hope with all my heart that you Lovelies have a wonderful Valentines Day!

I’ll be slaving away in a kitchen all evening for a Sweetheart Dinner I’m helping to organise. Meh. I’m personally not excited for this dinner anymore, but whatever.

I rarely comment on Lovelyish posts anymore, but I just HAD to comment on this one, because I love all of these ideas! Thank you for posting this

These are good ideas but there is nothing particularly special about them. 3 out of 5 of these I do with with my friends anyway, singles and couples.

Work, LOL. That’s all I ever do these days. I’m way behind on my reed orders due to a death in the family and last night’s Burns Supper and all that business, so I’m having to play catch up. Oh the wonders of a home-based business.
It’s OK though. I hate being social or doing anything that involves socializing, so I’m perfectly happy to stay in my personal sanctuary and work away. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I think I have to work thatparticular day/night, but game nights are always fun. It can also be combined with another of your suggestions, the potluck. Food and fun and everyone’s happy.

I’m laying in bed eating chocolate and watching movies, by myself.

I hadn’t thought of what I’ll be doing on V day, but crying alone in the shower sounds like it’ll be on the agenda.
