Last July, Rihanna announced that she was collaborating with British label River Island to create a Spring collection, which, it has just been revealed, will show next month at London Fashion Week.
River Island has already released several teasers for the collection, but the collaboration will finally debut at an invite-only event on February 16.
In December, Rihanna debuted one of the looks (shown above) as she allowed paparazzi to shoot her getting out of an SUV in her snap-front velour jumpsuit from the collection. A few days after that, information on the photo shoot for the campaign was released, which featured Jourdan Dunn, Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Ataui Deng, but oddly not Rihanna herself. Although Rihanna was on set to help her stylist Mel Ottenberg "direct the look and feel" of the campaign.
Now, River Island will be revealing the Rihanna collaboration collection at London Fashion Week in February, even though they're showing a Spring 2013 line, while everyone else at fashion week will be showing Fall 2013 collections.
Rihanna told British Vogue that, "Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me ... I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege. I can't wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!"
For those interested in owning a little Rihanna swag for yourself, the line will be carried at Opening Ceremony in New York and Japan starting on March 5.
Are you Lovelies looking forward to seeing Rihanna's designs come down the runway, or do you think they'll be as unwearable as most of her day-to-day outfits? Are any of you planning on buying some of her designs? What's your favorite celeb fashion collaboration?
