It’s that time of year again; the weather is crummy, Valentine’s Day is sneaking up on us and the Oscar nominees have been announced! I’m not a big fan of winter, so it’s always nice to have a bright spot like the nominations amidst all the gloom and dreariness of the season. This year, there were few surprises on the list, but that doesn’t make it not worth perusing! So get ready to start making bets on the winners before February 24th:

You can see the complete list over in Jezebel‘s post, which also provides these interesting factoids: “Lincoln leads the nominations with 12 nods. 85-year-old Emmanuelle Riva is the oldest-ever Best Actress nominee; Quvenzhané Wallis, at the ripe old age of nine, is the youngest ever. All of the supporting actor nominees have previously won Oscars.” Intriguing!
I’m rooting for Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Silver Linings Playbook to win all of the Oscars this year. It was my favorite film of 2012, and both actors were stellar in it. Nonetheless, the nominees this round are all pretty strong, and I have no idea who will actually win. Which is why I’m looking forward to tuning in on February 24th!
What do you think of these nominees? Who do you think will win?

Haven’t seen any of those movies, nor would I watch them even after they win awards. Talk about lack of variety this year.
