Plenty of ladies go to long lengths for beauty. Heck, I consider my glamour regimen to be downright lazy, and I still find it to be a pain in the butt. We spend so much time tweezing, shaving, dying and doing all sorts of things in the name of good looks (even though I’m sure men would still love us anyway). But some ladies take beauty regimens to a whole new level. Need proof? Take Farrah, one of the stars of MTV’s Teen Mom, who waxed her toddler’s eyebrows.
Here’s a post that Farrah wrote about the experience, which some people are up in arms about:
So here I am faced with a standout historical moment in motherhood when I can confirm to myself that my little, adorable, most cuddle-able cutie, baby girl has a unibrow. I felt bad for her.’Realizing that the hair wouldn’t go away on its own, Abraham attempted to wax her little girl’s eyebrows with limited success. ‘Sophia was freaking out, so I had to act like it was a cool science project to get the wax off,’ she wrote of her botched attempt to remove the fuzz.
Once her daughter fell asleep, Abraham used tweezers to remove the remaining hairs. “I got most of it off and the she finally woke up,”
I don’t wax or pluck my eyebrows because I’m too much of a wuss about the pain. (I was also thankfully born with a pretty average-looking set.) So I can’t imagine what such an experience would be like for a little kid! Needless to say, plenty of people are criticizing Farrah for her decision, even though she said she “[feels] like a good mom” because of it. Whether or not it’s cool for her to pluck out her three-year-old’s facial hair, I can’t say I envy the kid! [via US]
What do you think of Farrah’s beauty decision for her daughter?

Not even 3 year olds can be kids anymore. Wait until she worries about her unibrow, not you. She’s three years old, do you think she cares about eyebrows?!?!?!?! Geezzzusss

Best mum award goes to!… Not Farrah.

Eh. I think it’s pretty ridiculous. Her daughter is 3 years old, I doubt she’s worrying or fretting if she has a uni-brow or not. Let kids be kids. I mean youth goes away, and she’ll be a grown-up eventually.

She needs to care about more important things, than her daughter’s physical appearance that doesn’t even harm her child. Goodness gravy. I’m not even going to tell my children about waxing or nailpolish until they’re pre-teens! Hahaha

I think this mom is worried about the wrong things! Surely her daughter didn’t care about the unibrow.

Waxing…Idk about that. But my four year old boy has a uni and when he goes to the barber shop I get the barber to go right down the middle. I grew up with a uni and its nothing good.

I think its wrong how tv stars want thier kids to be perfect and to me just wax your own not ya kids eye brows:)

eh, yeah about that . it wasn’t a good decision but at the same time pageant kids do that shit all the time; I’m not saying that that makes it okay. i think that those shoes that promote child pageants are child abuse but others don’t agree .

Waxing is going too far. She could have taken one of those tiny electric razors for such things to the girl’s unibrow if it was an issue of her being teased or something because of it. But even I wouldn’t go that far unless it was some sort of issue with bullying or mean kids. This is just teaching her earlier on to worry about her looks.

@ThrasherDaze@xanga - right? what better way to teach your kid to be superficial.

not cool

Way to teach your kids early that one’s appearance is all that matters.

She only did that cause it made HER feel uncomfortable/self-conscious, not the kid. She needs to get a hold of her own insecurities before she passes them on to her kid.

part of the point of being a kid is that stuff like unibrows shouldn’t matter.

….

That isn’t child abuse? o.O

Leave her unibrow alone! She’s a kid for goodness sakes!

It was a pretty serious unibrow… and Farrah IS young, a model, and obviously concerned with physical appearance. I can understand the logic, but I don’t necessarily agree with it. She’s only three, and chances are that she will be insecure about some aspect of her looks until the day she dies. The longer that can be put off, the better! I feel like it could have at least waited until kindergarten, and even then it should be Sophia’s decision.

Her kids gonna grow up with body issues from hell. What a selfish bitch.

Bitches like this are the reason kids had/have/will have so many self esteem problems..

farrah is such an idiot smh yet another reason to dislike her
