I’ve been sharing this beautiful rap song that’s all about supporting gay marriage with all my friends. I figured I might as well share it with you all too.
Macklemore (real name Ben Haggerty) has been around making music for awhile now, but his most recent song with producer Ryan Lewis has been blowing up on the internet. For good reason: it’s touching a subject that’s been on a lot of people’s minds lately. Not to mention, these lyrics are touching on the truth. Looking forward to hearing more from this collection of talented musicians.
“When I was in the third grade I thought that I was gay
‘Cause I could draw, and my uncle was, and I kept my room straight
I told my mom tears rushing down my face
She’s like “Ben you’ve loved girls since before pre-k shrimp”
On a lighter note, their song about thrift store shopping cracks me up. Check it out.
“Passin’ up on those moccasins someone else’s been walkin’ in
Bummy and grungy, fuck it man
I am stuntin’ and flossin’ and
Savin’ my money and I’m hella happy that’s a bargain, bitch
I’ma take your grandpa’s style, I’ma take your grandpa’s style,
No for real – ask your grandpa – can I have his hand-me-downs? (Thank you)”
