I love handmade gifts. They have so much more meaning than something you bought at the store. A few years ago, my friend Leslie (one of our awesome contributing writers) hand crocheted me an infinity scarf for Christmas. I’d say I had a lucrative holiday that year as far as gifts go, but the best thing I got was that scarf. She put a lot of effort and time into something just for me. It tugs at my heart strings to know that someone cared enough to do that.
DIY gifts are meaningful, practical and can be significantly cheaper than store-bought stuff. I mean, who wouldn’t love to get a set of handmade blue hippo bookends?! Check out some of these amazing DIY gift ideas then get crafting!

i love diy gifts. the one year i made scarves for all the women in my family and i baked a variety of cookies for the men. dunno what i’ll do this year but it’ll be diy as well. they’re more heartfelt and work great on a budget.
