Here is a list of things I care about more than the state of Kate Middleton’s womb: cats, where I am going out to eat this week, coffee and watching That 70s Show on Netflix. However, no one can escape the royal pregnancy rumors, and we’ve been bombarded with them since last year’s wedding. Seriously, you can’t go a week without seeing a headline screaming “TWINS,” “A BABY FOR KATE” or something along those lines. (No lie: I was chuckling at a magazine that read “BABY FOR CHRISTMAS” in the grocery store just ten minutes ago. Like she’s going to present William with a baby swaddled in wrapping paper or something.) But now the rumors are really, finally true: Kate Middleton is pregnant!
The Duchess was admitted to the hospital this morning with Hyperemesis Gravidarum…AKA, morning sickness. Since that ailment isn’t exactly something the palace can hush up, they went ahead and made an official announcement:
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.
The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.
Further information:
Hyperemesis Gravidarum is very acute morning sickness, which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients.
While I may not particularly care whether or not Kate is pregnant, this is certainly happy news! There’s no word on when she’s due, but I’m sure we’ll hear plenty of details (and rumors) soon enough. Congrats to the royal couple! [via Jezebel]

And yet, there’s still a post on the state of her womb. Hm.

All I could think is, to quote my boyfriend, “Whose Ashley?” I can never say actually without him saying that. @_@ lol.

wait, so lovelyish cares about her bangs, but not about her baby?
okay, messed-up priorities, you guys.
think of all the potential posts involving how she should dress her little girl or boy, and which gender is easier to dress as a kid, or if it matters. now that’s some awesome post material.

I would find it more than a little funny if the kid is born on July 4. That’s my only feeling on the matter.

You know her name isn’t Kate Middleton anymore, right?

The condition for which she is treated is very serious.. She’ll need IV fluids and other support. This is morning sickness on STEROIDS !!!

i sympathize with any woman that has hypermesis. i was on meds for chemotherapy patients so i could stop vomiting and i was still getting sick constantly.

I might get a few nasty comments for my opinion, but I’m going to risk it.
Honestly, I don’t care if she’s pregnant. I’m not a Brit; I don’t follow the royals. This does not affect my life in the least.
