If all you know of Leighton Meester is her buttoned-up role on Gossip Girl, you might be pretty surprised to see her photoshoot inside Flaunt magazine’s November issue.
The sexually-charged spread is gorgeous in contrasty shades of black and white, and also features a very naked pair of men. But more importantly, it showcases Meester in a way that is unexpected to many (well, to me at least!). But since the final season of Gossip Girl finished filming last month, I suppose change comes with the territory.
Of the photoshoot, Leighton says “it was the best magazine cover shoot EVER. Everyone was so open. The clothes were amazing and the pictures turned out great.”
And on what’s next for her:
At the end of the day I don’t do this for money. I want to be stimulated and challenged. And I’m even excited to struggle, to have things not come so automatically.
Am I alone in my love for this spread? Leighton is dark, edgy and completely in control of her sexuality. And I love the saturated color and the slight uncomfortableness of it all.

This is going to sound so super bitchy, but I don’t care. I love it how when mediocre actresses that lose their 15 minutes try to regain it by doing a nude or suggestive shoot in the name of sexual liberation. The shoot is great, and everything, but actresses should find some other way to make a career change.

@Erika_Steele@xanga - Leighton Meester has been on Gossip Girl since 2007 and has portrayed Blair impeccably for 5 years along with multiple other roles. She is both a talented singer and musician, she has an interesting and funny personality, and she has fantastic fashion sense. On top of it all, she is gorgeous and looks fabulous in these photos.
How do these things qualify her as “mediocre” and milking her “15 minutes of fame?” Just because she isn’t the highest paid actress in Hollywood doesn’t make her irrelevant.

@jmeLove_x@xanga - 1) I don’t like Gossip Girl. The show is horrible. I didn’t even know it was still on. 2) If I’ve seen her on something else, she was forgettable, because I certainly forgot her. Perhaps she doesn’t make stuff I like 3) I can’t comment on her musical talent. Maybe she can sing. I doubt I’d like the genre of music she makes. 4) The amount of money she makes doesn’t reflect her ability. There are high paid actors and actresses that I don’t get. 5) She is beautiful and she has a great sense of fashion I totally agree with that, but what do these have to do with her acting ability which does not impress me. 6) I said the shoot was great. 7) If I had known that show she is on that I don’t like was still actually on TV, I wouldn’t have said 15 minutes of fame.
