Shortly after Jessica Simpson gave birth to her daughter Maxwell in May, she made a $4 million deal with Weight Watchers to shed the 70 pounds she gained while pregnant. Jessica has been working extremely hard and has lost 60 of the 70 pounds. She showed off her new figure at a recent event for her clothing line.
I’m so proud of Jessica and think she looks great! Although she can afford amenities that other people can’t, it’s still extremely difficult to lose that much weight and you can tell that she’s worked hard for her body. I admire her for taking the healthy route and losing the weight over time, as opposed to other celebrities who get back to their original bodies within a month.
“My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel,” she recently said. “I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself.”

I love how she just says she’s a regular woman and that she’s not bouncing back like a supermodel. We don’t all need to look like a supermodel or aspire to look like them to be attractive and healthy. I like it

she still looks chubby and like the average woman, but it’s good that she’s choosing the right type of clothing to accentuate her chest and not her stomach

naming her daughter Maxwell, which sounds like a guy’s name or is a guy’s name
maybe she doesn’t know the feminine version is Maxine
I noticed her daughter’s name and that distracted me more than her weight loss.

that black outfit were she is holding hands looks very good

You are right. It is NOT easy to lose 60 lbs. Way to go, Jessica !!!

There is NO reason any woman with a normal BMI should gain SEVENTY fuckin’ pounds. As a nursing student we are told women with a normal BMI thats 18.5-24.9…should gain about 25-35 lbs. Thats IT for their ENTIRE pregnancy, why there are women gaining 50, 60, SEVENTY pounds is beyond me. Don’t they know that a large baby comes with complications like shoulder dystocia?
Women really need to be educated on the appropriate amount of weight to gain for a pregnancy.
Also, She still looks chubby. I hope she will diet/exercise even more from here because although she made progress if she doesn’t keep it up she will have health problems.

@stringstomyheart@xanga - As long as the saying, “eating for two” persists, the huge weight gain will, too. It’s an excuse that many mothers I know have used, and they were encouraged to go back for seconds by the culture around them who echoed the same. It probably came from a time when malnourishment was a big issue – it’s time for it to go away.

yeah, she looks great. but still, focusing on her weight feeds the insane drive for everyone to “get thin”.
