Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple weeks, you probably know that Disney recently bought the entire Star Wars franchise. And, though George Lucas had said that he wouldn’t make more films, it’s pretty much assured that Disney will churn out some more. Much has been said about who should direct these currently nonexistent movies, and names are being thrown around left and right. Conan O’Brien even weighed in on the decision, and presented a clip of what Star Wars might look like if Wes Anderson directed it. Check it out by clicking here!
As a huge Wes Anderson fan, I really love this. And, while I’m definitely not saying he should direct the next movie, it probably would be interesting (and funny) if he did. Nonetheless, I’m predicting a Michael Bay or equally intense name to actually be on the posters. [via Macleans]

the nerd in me died just a little just looking at the still. With fear and trepidation, I watched it and all I can say is that Hipsters ruin everything.

SciFi has it’s own style. Though I love Wes Anderson, his style doesn’t fit with science fiction. I do love this though- as a parody or short, not a full length movie.

LOL! They forgot the yellow tint. XD That was funny that they mocked his choice of composition too.
His style doesn’t go with the storyline for Star Wars, that’s for sure. However, I wouldn’t mind seeing a different sci-fi film from him. After all, his film,The Life Aquatic, has a little bit of that science fiction elements. I can see Wes Anderson making a kitsch child-like wonders type of science fiction (like George Mieles’ A Trip to the Moon) or turning The Little Prince story into a movie.
