Do you ever come across someone in real life that looks like they were Photoshopped? Occasionally I’ll see people that are so perfect it seems as though they can’t be real. Meet Valeria Lukyanova, a 21-year-old Ukranian singer who looks eerily like Barbie.
Valeria has many of Barbie’s features, including long blonde hair, a thin nose, large boobs, and tiny waist. When I first saw a picture of her, I actually thought she was a doll. Because she has so many similarities to Barbie, she is often accused of being heavily Photoshopped in pictures. To put rumors to rest and to prove her looks are real, V Magazine featured her in their latest “Girl Power” issue.
In the interview, Valeria was asked how she feels about people saying she’s artificial. “Many people say bad things about people who want to perfect themselves. It’s hard work, but they dismiss it as something done by surgeons or computer artists. This is how they justify not wanting to strive for self-improvement. It’s how they explain their continued inaction. It’s just an excuse,” she said. “There are plenty of video clips on the Internet showing what I really look like. Some people even spread rumors about me and retouch my pictures to hurt me. But I don’t take them seriously. I’m even flattered! It’s what success is like. I’m happy I seem unreal to them, it means I’m doing a good job.”

other than, you know, her insanely nice makeup and what i hope is airbrushing everywhere else, otherwise i feel like a beast.

I personally think stacy keibler looks like the real life barbie due to her long barbie-like legs. barbie dolls don’t even have big boobs, so stacy’s proportions are more like barbie than this girl.

It’s pretty well known that she’s been surgically enhanced so I’m not sure why you are reporting that she hasn’t.

I cant believe its all real with the make up, hair extensions, eye contacts, breast implants and the nose is so small I dont know how she could breathe out of it! Its sort of beautiful and disturbing at the same time.

If she says its down to being rawist, not drinking or smoking and having faith in her beliefs then I guess it must be, clearly there is a lot of make up involved and she dresses the part. Yay. We as women should definitely strive to look like a doll, even if the dolls and the image itself isn’t at all natural or what we were built to look like. That’s definitely better, and us denying it is just us not wanting to be as pretty as her.

The creepy doll look is mostly just a “big eye” makeup trick that’s been very exaggerated. Technique: line the inner part of your bottom lid with white eyeliner, then outline the whole eye with black, putting a white highlight at the inner corner of the eye. The other part of the doll look is facial expression – also pretty easy to pull off; I used to do it to freak out my sister when we were little. Otherwise, she is not unusually skinny. A lot of it looks like camera angles, since some of the pictures are more extreme than others. Maybe I’m biased since I have to go on “diets” to try and gain weight rather than lose it, but I think her shape is pretty close to a lot of other young girls’. I used to have a waist like that, but got my dad’s side of the gene pool in the chest department. That definitely seems to be where her shape is exaggerated, but it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility, even if her whole image is kind of shocking at first.
