Ah, shoes. Many women make sacrifices to wear cute shoes as they can make or break an outfit. If a girl loves a pair of heels, for instance, she will wear them in spite of height, blisters, or pain. I have several pairs of shoes that I should get rid of because they either don’t fit and/or are really uncomfortable, but I just can’t seem to part with them because they’re just so darn cute. So I completely understand sacrificing a little for cute shoes, but what I don’t understand is when people wear ugly and uncomfortable shoes. Sure, I’ve admitted to wearing my Uggs in public, but I do have some standards, and I would never wear any of the following. Here are 10 of the ugliest shoes in history.

Double Boots
These boots, designed by Israeli designer Kobi Levi, were worn by Lady Gaga in her Born This Way video. Not only are they extremely ugly and impractical, but they also look downright painful to wear.
Knee-High Flower Boots
Why anyone thought these knee-high boots designed by Viktor & Rolf were attractive is beyond me. They look like something a 5-year-old girl would make for an art project.

Kind of hard to disagree.

These a definitely ugly although I would wear the second to last pair before I wear Uggs.

if this passes for shoe design I should be doing it. I have some extra shopping bags and some left over super glue…just empty out the cat litter box and glue the bottle of root stimulator to it….

the shoes in the shape of toes with velcro straps is creepy. it is like someone cut off a gorilla’s feet and wore it as shoes.

For some reason…I love the pompom metallic shoes. They give me happy thoughts. Maybe they remind me of Tinkerbell.

Those double boots are fucking with my head.

I can see some of these shoes being used in a haute couture fashion shoot, while others are just plain atrocious.

I’m honestly surprised Croc shoes didn’t make it on the list. Crocs are some ugly ass shoes. (I don’t care how comfortable they are.) Apparently Croc shoes are still made, and people still wear them. Go figure!

@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - I saw someone on the train wearing them once. I was confused and thought they were for swimming or something o.O
@chadwilly@xanga - same here lmao.

We have a volunteer that comes in every Tuesday at work, and he wears those black, toe shoes. He says they’re really comfortable, but if you’re not a person who likes to go barefoot, they’re probably not for you. He said he loves being barefoot.

Those double boots are so weird!
I actually kind of liked the ones with all the crystals, but that model’s toenails are quite long and look like they’d be painful if she accidentally kicked something.
I don’t get the point of boots that are open, such as peep-toe boots. It defeats the purpose of the boot.

Half those shoes aren’t “ugly”. An appropriate title would be “vastly impractical” but then you’d have to take the vibrams off. I love my vibrams, by the way, partially because I hate wearing shoes and the vibrams make for a lovely loophole. That said a good deal of those shoes would fit right in with club culture of anime and comic conventions.

I think the pair with the animal hooves, fur and gold guns is tacky. Who is that made for? The wife of some big game hunter?

For some reason, a lot of these give me the creeps…? And I LOVE that you put those disgusting “5 finger shoes” on there. They just look dirty. I’d much rather see someone wear a pair of ratty old Uggs than walking around in those nasty monkey foot “shoes!”

these are all so very UGLY! especially the ones shaped like feet. i have actually seen people wear these in the street! i’ve never understood that.

You left out sandal boots! They’re ugly and completely useless.. unless your ankles are very chilly and your toes are too warm.

The toe shoes are made more for athletic activity. I own a pair and use them to run the mountain in the morning. They’re actually very comfortable, and don’t play as a factor of the stress in my lower back like my old running shoes did. I also noticed that I’m able to run a little faster without hesitation. They may be ugly, but they pay off.
