Like many celebrities, Scarlett Johansson isn’t afraid of needles. The actress, who stars as Psycho star Janet Leigh in an upcoming movie about Alfred Hitchcock, already had two tattoos: one of a sunset on her arm, and another of a bracelet on her wrist. And now she’s thrown a side piece into the mix! Click here to see it and let us know what you think!
In case you couldn’t tell, it’s a horseshoe with the words “lucky you” around it. Here’s a more detailed view of the ink:
(Side note: does anyone else get kind of weirded out by skin close-ups?) So what does this tattoo mean? Perhaps it’s obvious: after all, anyone able to get close enough to read it is probably pretty lucky to be hanging with ScarJo. In the past, Johansson has said that her tattoos make her “happy,” but that she wants their meanings “to remain private.” So I guess that means we won’t be getting any juicy details about this one. Nonetheless, I like its old-school style and location, and can’t wait to see what Scarlett gets next! [via OV]
What do you think of Scarlett’s new tattoo?

She probably should have gone to a better artist…the lines seem jagged. Looks like an apprentices work who didn’t practice on fruit before tattooing a real person.

Yeah you think she would have gone to a better artist with all that dough!

So far it looks like the style of each tattoo is the same. ^_^ I dunno, I think it’s cute, I wonder what it stands for

Maybe I’m just not that much of a tattoo guy, but to me it’s a pretty ugly tattoo. And unless it has some deep meaning I think it’s a pretty dumb egotistical one too.

That’s a horrible tattoo. Come on now, with all the money she’s got she can’t afford to go to a decent artist? Please.

It looks like a little kid drew it and you never know, maybe they did. And maybe it’s special to her for that reason haha you could make anything up. It’s her skin. I think looks pretty shit though. I’m not a tattoo fan though so I am biased.

she was probably aiming for that amateur design or had a close inexperienced friend do it.
if not, she probably flinched too much during the tattooing process (the ribs are one of the most painful places to get tats)

Wow… that tattoo is actually making me lose respect for her a little.

I kind of agree with everyone. The quality work of that tattoo seems pretty subpar to me. Definitely seen better quality ones. Perhaps she should’ve paid a visit to Kat von D’s tattoo shop in LA..

Oh dear.

I’m going to go ahead and guess this must’ve been intentionally styled like that? The whole thing is so wonky, off-center and badly done that it HAS to have been intended to look like that.Still looks awful.
@LeeKymKween@xanga - Flinching should effect your tattoo. I’ve watched my artist tattoo straight lines on a girl who was practically flailing out of the chair.
I HATE when people use ‘flinching’ as a justification for a TERRIBLE tattoo. Everyone moves. No one can stay totally still for 4+ hours. Learning to tattoo people as they naturally move about is part of being a good tattoo artist.

very cliche

The lines aren’t clean.. was that intentional?
I can’t/shouldn’t knock down why she had it because I’m sure (or at least hope) there’s meaning to it, but I can’t get past how not clean the tattoo looks :/

I would have thought that someone like Scarlett Johansson would have been able to afford to go to a good tattooist. That looks like it was done in someone’s living room.

That tattoo looks terrible.

@Foodhog@xanga - maybe the tattooist was too nervous about being so close to her breasts haha
guest
i kind of like it. and I am sure it was intended to be that way…like an old horseshoe…I don’t think there are any looking quite like that, but….
I wouldn’t get that tat, but I don’t hate it.
guest
lol “lucky you” next to her boobs, that’s pretty funny

I love Scarlett Johansson…. But you think someone with as much money as her would get an amazing tattoo. That looks like it was done by some newb tattoo artist. The lines in it aren’t straight, they’re squiggly. I think it’s a great idea for the tattoo. But the tattoo itself could’ve been better.

About the only good thing I can say for that tattoo is in 30 years it won’t be all run together and faded looking. Not enough ink there for it to get all fubar.
