Lucky Magazine is receiving a ton of criticism for their new December cover featuring Britney Spears. Sure, Britney looks great if you’re looking at the cover from far away, but as soon as you get up close it clearly looks like Britney is wearing a wig, and a bad one at that.
Many of Britney’s fans complained to Lucky on Twitter about the wig as well as their excessive use of retouching on the pop star. Here were some of the reactions:
“@LuckyMagazine That cover looks horrible. Did @britneyspears even show up for the photoshoot or did you just photoshop her face on a body?”
“@LuckyMagazine It’s just a big disgrace to a bloody LEGEND! Does she really look like that? No.”
“@LuckyMagazine Why on earth would you put that horrendous wig on@britneyspears? It’s lazy & unprofessional. Why not use her natural hair?”
All of the complaints led the magazine to publicly apologize to readers on Twitter! “Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on our cover! As always, we will share with our team and we’re sorry to have let some of you down,” they tweeted.
What do you think of the Lucky cover? It is as bad as Britney fans are making it out to be?

I honestly don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out. I’m more appalled that someone actually called Britney Spears a LEGEND… O_O

The wig does look pretty obvious but I don’t think it is that bad. But then again, I am not much of a Britney fan so it doesn’t bother me. Britney’s fangirls need to calm down. For the record, I do not feel Britney is a legend.

She kind of looks like a chipmunk on the cover….?
I’m sorry I like the Spears. It’s sad they had to go to that level on her, and it’ll suck to know if she really wanted to be covered that much.

Her face looks weird… and a bit not like her.

@surveys_fortheteenageesoul@xanga - @babybug329@xanga - I’m a little biased because I am a Britney fan, so I feel she is somewhat a legend. Not quite there, but she is on the road to one. She’s one of the most successful pop singers (not just for a female) ever. Plus, her legend can go down in a positive way or a negative way. Positive because she made a pretty big impact on the music scene, negative because of her infamous meltdown.
It’s not as bad as the fangirls should make it out to be, but it does look very much like she’s wearing a wig, but I don’t see the HUGE fuss in it.

At first glance, I thought the cover looked okay. But upon further examination, I accidentally gave too many fucks about dumb shit.

I think we are taking it too seriously. Obviously somebody liked the images or she wouldn’t be on the cover of the magazine.

@surveys_fortheteenageesoul@xanga - She IS a legend. She accomplished more at the age of 11 than you ever will in your entire life.
guest
@CanuckFascist@xanga - That doesn’t necessarily make her a legend, just because she accomplished things that I didn’t. It matters more WHAT she accomplished and I don’t think what she accomplished, being an obnoxious teen pop star, was all that groundbreaking in music history. Sorry.

@surveys_fortheteenageesoul@xanga - Jealousy does not become you. Would you care to note she is STILL around, after starting her career at age 8?
guest
@CanuckFascist@xanga - Again, doesn’t automatically make her a legend… But I suppose we just have different ideas of what a legend is. Lol, whatever. I’m done arguing about this.

They destroyed her face. In my opinion it looks like a man in drag. :/
