About a month ago, I filled all of you in on my friendship with Lizzie Velasquez, or as some have called her “The World’s Ugliest Woman”. Lizzie is one of three people in the world with a rare condition that prohibits her from acquiring and maintaining fat on her body. Since she has begun sharing her story with the world, there has been a lot of positive feedback and supporters, but there has also been extremely negative comments as well.
Never one to let the negative attitudes of others effect her, Lizzie has remained positive and enthusiastic about getting her story out to the public and letting others know that life is truly what you make it and if she can overcome obstacles in her life, so can you.
Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of accompanying Lizzie to Los Angeles to film an episode of The Doctors. The whole experience was amazing; we met so many wonderful people, went sight seeing and got a nice surprise trip out of it, too!
Here are a couple of clips from our segment on the show which aired today:

ooh I love her! And cool, you are famous.

I remember watching her story in my Biology class. She isn’t ugly, people need to get over themselves

So awesome. Wonder if I can find the book somewhere..

People are so cruel… I dont get how people can say such mean people to anyone. Especially people with disorders, but they need to think about things before they say crap.
I see nothing wrong with her

@upthestairs__totheroof@xanga - Yes! You can find it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble or any Christian bookstore. She also has another book called Lizzie Beautiful that available for purchase as well.

@bbanmen420@xanga - all I see when I look at her is a beautiful smile that reaches her eyes, and I rarely see that on the faces of supposed “beautiful” people

God this is awesome! She seems like such a great person, really genuine and so positive. She also sounds like she would be a lot of fun to hang out with because she is so easy-going. Also, both of you have great fashion sense!

@cody_ashby@xanga - Thanks so much! That really means a lot and she appreciates the abundant amount of support from all of the positive messages!

You are so lucky to know her and thank you for sharing her story with us.

You are a very confident speaker for age 23, you both fit each other as best friends well.

I’m really confused as to why we keep labeling her “World’s Ugliest Woman” in the headline. If you’re making the point she is beautiful, that doesn’t seem like the best idea.

tbh shes not even ugly really. she just looks anorexic which quite a few people do right? except she cant help it.
guest
I don’t think she’s ugly! She can’t help that she can’t gain weight. Some people are just so nasty. I hope she can keep her positive attitude and ignore the evil people in this world.

What an amazing story! Thank you for sharing it. Love and hugs to Lizzie!!

This is a little off-topic, but you look like DulceCandy from Youtube.
She might not be the most beautiful person outside, but she sure seems extremely beautiful inside and that’s more important than any outer beauty in the world.

@SUPletstake___surveys@xanga - I’ve never heard of DulceCandy, but just looked her up and she is really pretty, so thank you for the comparison haha. I have also had a lot of people telling me that I look like Farrah from Teen Mom (not so thrilled about that one).

She’s not even ugly. Sucks that she has the condition, but kudos to her for staying positive

@magikmusikboks - I think that was to get peoples’ attention…you come here all ready to attack somebody for being a total jerk, and then you find out what this is really all about. That’s how it got me, anyway. I was so ready to tell somebody off; there’s way too many people who think it’s okay to say the most vile things, under cover of anonymity. Cowards.

She’s the best!! What a sweet lady!

I love this, so great.

I wouldn’t even of titled it the way you did because if I read that on your blog being her especially I would be hurt and offended! Just saying!
guest
Wonderful… People are so much more than their exterior appearance !!!
guest
@Angelica - I think both Farrah & DulceCandy are gorgeous, so I would take both as a compliment (:
