Nothing compliments October’s Halloween atmosphere better than a good scary story. Some of my most distinct childhood memories of the month involve me staying up late to read the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series…and not being able to sleep. (I don’t know what terrified me more: the stories or the morbid illustrations that accompanied them.) And even though I’m now an adult, it doesn’t take much to spook me, and terrifying tales still give me the shivers. Want to read my one of favorite ones? Check it out here, if you dare, and then post your own favorite scary story! The best ones will be featured in a post on Halloween!
A man went to a hotel and walked up to the front desk to check in. The woman at the desk gave him his key and told him that on the way to his room, there was a door with no number that was locked and no one was allowed in there. Especially no one should look inside the room, under any circumstances. So he followed the instructions of the woman at the front desk, going straight to his room, and going to bed.
The next night his curiosity would not leave him alone about the room with no number on the door. He walked down the hall to the door and tried the handle. Sure enough it was locked. He bent down and looked through the wide keyhole. Cold air passed through it, chilling his eye. What he saw was a hotel bedroom, like his, and in the corner was a woman whose skin was completely white. She was leaning her head against the wall, facing away from the door. He stared in confusion for a while. He almost knocked on the door, out of curiosity, but decided not to.
This disinclination saved his life. He crept away from the door and walked back to his room. The next day, he returned to the door and looked through the wide keyhole. This time, all he saw was redness. He couldn’t make anything out besides a distinct red color, unmoving. Perhaps the inhabitants of the room knew he was spying the night before, and had blocked the keyhole with something red.
At this point he decided to consult the woman at the front desk for more information. She sighed and said, “Did you look through the keyhole?” The man told her that he had and she said, “Well, I might as well tell you the story. A long time ago, a man murdered his wife in that room, and her ghost haunts it. But these people were not ordinary. They were white all over, except for their eyes, which were red.”
GAH! It’s 9:30 in the morning here, the sun is shining and I still got freaked out by reading that. Scare me some more by posting your favorite stories in the comments! [Story copied from Creepypasta]

There was a creepier story on a Japanese TV show that I saw a few years ago.
Can’t remember all the details..and I don’t know if I can tell it as well as the people on the TV show did, but here it goes:
A man was coming back into his apartment building. He was exhausted after a long day at work. When the elevator got to his floor, and he was walking to his room, a man wearing a blue sweater rushed passed him and slightly bumped into him. He felt a bit annoyed that he didn’t even say “excuse me,” and wanted to scold, but he was gone before he could even take a look at his face. He got to his room and sat on the couch and turned on the TV. Approximately 10 minutes later he hears a knock at the door. He was too tired to answer so he sat silently hoping that whoever was knocking would go away. He hears a knock again and whoever was knocking said, “Please answer your door.”
“Alright, alright. Just a minute,” he answered. He sat up, extremely aggravated, and opened the door. The person at the door was a man with a black fleece jacket. “Hi. I’m sorry to bother you, but have you seen a man in a blue sweater?” Not wanting to be bothered, the man lied and said, “No I have not.”
The guest replied, “Okay sir, sorry to bother you. Have a nice day,” and left.
The man shut the door and hoped nobody would disturb him again.
Later that evening when he was watching the news, he hears another knock on the door. “What now,” he thought. “This is the police, please open up.” Feeling alert, he went straight to the door, and saw three officers standing there. One officer said, “Good evening sir. We are currently investigating a recent trouble within this apartment complex, and would really appreciate your cooperation. Have you seen a man with a blue sweater?” Not wanting to lie to the police, the man replied, “Yes I have. He rushed past me in the hallway just a few hours ago.” The officers looked at each other, and another one pulled out a picture. “Have you seen this man?” he asked. The picture was the exact man with the black fleece jacket that knocked on his door earlier. “Yes I have. He came knocking on my door earlier, looking for the man in the blue sweater” The officers looked at each other again, this time with wide eyes.
The officer said, “There has been a reporting of murder spree in this building. The most recent murder happened on your floor.”
The man was shocked. The officer continued, “The man with the blue sweater and the man picture here with the black fleece jacket is the same person, and is the murderer. We are just glad that you are okay.”

@fabolousclown@xanga - It could’ve been a woman?

You know, since we’re mentioning creepy stories and what not, does anyone remember the illustrated about the girl with the red scarf (or was it green)? She told no one to take it off, and then one day someone did and her head fell off.
That was a wtf story I will never understand.

@fabolousclown@xanga - That’s not creepy, that’s a logic question

@NightShade_Tea@xanga - That was in a book I read in elementary school called “In a Dark Dark room” or something. Her name was Jenny, and it was a green ribbon around her neck!
