Getting some friends together over at my house every Saturday night to watch SNICK is definitely one of my favorite memories of childhood. I still watch old-school Nickelodeon (Salute Your Shorts, Adventures of Pete & Pete, Ren & Stimpy, etc.), but nothing had quite the effect on me like Are You Afraid of the Dark?… not even my collection of Goosebumps books! It gave me nightmares as a child, and some of the memories of those episodes still stick with me as an adult. (The vampire in the movie theater one scared the hell out of me.) I think screenwriters should just get rid of all of the half-naked screaming women and the “let’s split up” clichés and just recycle these episodes. Patrick Sullivan has already done half the work by designing eerie posters for grown-up versions of three classic episodes often cited as the series’ spookiest: “The Tale of Dead Man’s Float,” “The Tale of the Night Nurse” and “The Tale of the Dangerous Soup” (with Neve Campbell!). Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I bring you three posters of movies that should be made ASAP.
I’d love to see a poster made for “The Tale of the Phantom Cab” and “The Tale of the Twisted Claw,” too! [via Vulture]
Lovelies, which poster is your favorite? Did any of you watch SNICK every Saturday night? What episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? scared you and your friends the most?

I like the bottom poster. I loved Are You Afraid of the Dark. I loved SNICK. I liked the episode where the girl was picked up on the side of the road and left her sweater in the dude’s car. The guy went to drop it off at her house and her parents said she had died. I also liked the one with HELP ME spelled backwards. I can’t think of the titles. I wish they would re air this show!

I like the Night Nurse poster. I loved that show, and I wish they would re-air it, if only at Halloween time…
COME BACK SNICK!

I loved Are You Afraid of the Dark and these stories inspired me to write ghost stories as a child (and made me have realistic nightmares that still make my mom nauseated to tell her about.) My favorite stories were about Zeebo the clown’s red foam nose (I think this was the first episode or close to it), the one where the girl gets stuck in a time loop through her locker, and the one where another girl wishes to be pretty and popular but ends up making a deal with an old crone? I’m not sure of the titles but I loved them!

@DarcKleer@xanga - Is this the same one as the girl that died on prom night? Cause that one was one of my favorites, mostly because of the really cool car at the end . . .

@deadroseawaiting - Zeebo was the second episode. I tried watching the series again like a month and a half ago, but then I got caught up with Breaking Bad lol.
Oh, SNICK. I miss you ever so much!
I really liked “The Tale of Apartment 214,” where the old lady was forever alone and the new tenant girl became friends with her not knowing she was dead until she didn’t hang out with her the night of her death anniversary or something like that. “The Tale of the Super Specs” was pretty creepy too because it delved into the thought of another dimension living in this world, but we can’t see it. And what would happen if you tampered with both of them and changed things. The one I hated for the life of me was “The Tale of the Renegade Virus” when some kid is playing a virtual reality game, but his friend plants a virus in it and everything goes wrong. The reason why I hated it was because the virus came to life or something and he was some little silver monster person who looked a little reminiscent of Frankenstein the The Leprechaun together. *shivers*
