Japan-based car maker Honda has released a unique car model that is aimed exclusively at women; the first automaker to do so. Appropriately named the Honda Fit She’s, the car sports lots of pink and is embezzled with quirky extra’s that are perfect for a lady.
Going for an all around style of “adult cute”, Honda decided to make pink the sole color inside and outside of the car. With an all metallic pink exterior, the interior is adorned with pink stitching everywhere from the steering wheel and seats to the floor mats and shifter. There is also pink metallic metal around all of the displays and controls.
If that is not girly enough for you, there is also an adorable little heart in place of the apostrophe in the “She’s” logo at the back of the car that is also complete in about 3 shades of pink.
Of course if pink isn’t your color, the car also comes in shades of brown and white.
Pink isn’t the only women-geared idea that Honda has put into the car. They also thought of a special windshield glass that protects from an amazing 99% of UV rays as well as an air conditioning system called “Plasmacluster” that can apparently improve skin quality.
Priced at $17,500 the Honda Fit She’s is hoping to be attractive to women in Japan who are just now starting to enter the workforce despite previous years of being forced to stay home.
What do you think of Honda’s new car model for women? Would you ever purchase this car?

Well..I’m all for those Japanese women to get out into the working force, and if this will help them do that then its awesome. Other than that, I’ll stick with my black Honda Civic because this pink car is stupid.

ROFL. So the car won’t start if it detects the presence of a Y chromosome?

It’s cute.

I feel like all car windshields should already block out 99% of UV rays

@Erika_Steele@xanga - nah the car will just instead automatically drive to the nearest kitchen.

Does it come with a tampon holder? Cuz that’s what I need my my lady-mobile.

This almost makes it sound like Japanese women are just entering the work force. They’ve been in the workforce in fairly even percentage as men for quite a long time. Just though I’d put that out there~
I guess the concept of an A.C. system that’s good for your skin is awesome because normal A.C. is fairly damaging. I wish they would make that an option for any car.
And if I were to choose a cute car, I would rather have a Fiat 500. Those things are well designed without being overly cute.

too small. I can’t haul all of my shopping spree bags in there. I need a big truck.

I really don’t like the shape of the car. I like the UV blocking windshield, and the idea of the air conditioner that is better for the skin. Nifty idea, great marketing plan.
Would I buy it? I’d like to see more of the safety specs. Otherwise, strictly on visuals, no.

Um, not sure about all this pink-ness, but I do like the thought of filtering out UV rays because that’s serious business if you are driving for a long time. And the AC thing… appeals to me…
It’s weird to market a car JUST to women, because that’s weird territory for sure, but I’m just going to pick up the features I want and harass car companies to put them in for me. XD

I think it’s cute!

@gettin_skinnay@xanga - I lol’d.
I think it’s a silly thing to do since it implies present cars aren’t currently made for all genders.

Dooooo want

Do you guys remember when that new Dr. Pepper was marketed to only guys and pretty much all female bloggers instantly got their panties in a twist? I do!

@gettin_skinnay@xanga - if they were really thinking, the car would be equipped with a hidden tampon DISPENSER.

ummm can they have this in the US too? pink I love it!

@WaitingToShrug@xanga - Yea, I laughed pretty hard at that one. A billion and one products on the market and stores in the mall that cater solely to the female audience, but a couple campy doctor pepper commercials and everybody goes ballistic.
Frankly, I think it is a marketing campaign worth exploring. I don’t know if I seriously expect it to pay large dividends, but Honda hits a rather large market corner with this product, that being young female professionals, and a market corner that is known to respond to targeted marketing, that being females with egos and money. I can see it being, if not a windfall, at least a profitable venture until the novelty wears off.

if i had the money, i would consider it – but i’d get in brown instead. i just bought a bright red toyota yaris hatchback, though. i feel pretty feminine in that, too. both are pretty cute.

@WaitingToShrug@xanga - FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF WHEN I SAW THIS!
guest
i like it

@MK_A_Chick@xanga - Lol, right? I giggled.
@Endrath@xanga - I definitely think there are plenty of women who would buy one. They should branch it out to pastel purples, blues, greens, etc. Personally, I drive a small pickup truck and this looks odd to me, but with the popularity of Fiats, Minis, SmartCars and VW Beetles, I bet this would get a great reception.
I just think it’s so hypocritical for females who had a problem with the Dr. Pepper thing to think this is awesome. Granted, they are in Japan, so if they even have the men’s DP, who knows, maybe the women in Japan are more reasonable.

I’ll stick to my manly sports cars. Girly things just aren’t for all girls, I guess…

It doesn’t really look pink though. If you’re going to make it pink to appeal for women, why not at least make it a pretty shade of pink?!

I like the idea of designing a vehicle with women in mind – but not based on color or extra cute things like that. A standard vehicle is made with men in mind, and it would be nice for a vehicle to be made with women as the standard to suit their bodies better for a change. Design of vehicles does make a difference (women tend to get more injuries in accidents, I hear). BUT I don’t agree with marketing a vehicle just for women based on aesthetics. I’m fine with a cute pink car – just don’t advertise it as strictly a “woman’s car” if there aren’t any structural changes. This car may or may not have those.

this isn’t very new… they’ve had pink Honda Fits in Japan for a while
