You might recognize January Jones from her award-winning role as Betty Draper on Mad Men (or, if you’re like me, from her less prestigious role in Dirty Dancing II — love that movie…).
And though you’d think her booming career would keep her busy enough, Jones is also a recent mother, a spokesperson for sharks and still has time to curate one incredibly street-savvy wardrobe.
Or, at least, that’s what I thought, until I saw her pink ensemble at the Paley Center for Media’s Annual Los Angeles Benefit.
Ms. Jones must have taken a page from Michelle and Anne’s book when she chose this bright, Pepto-pink. And actually, I love the color, especially against her flawless skin.
But the shape? Too much, in my opinion! There’s a pointed collar, puffed shoulders, bell sleeves and drop-waisted shorts. I thought this was a shift dress at first…but no, it’s a romper. I mean, a color like that can speak for itself. Getting carried away with all the details can ruin any outfit!
I want to like this look so bad, but I just can’t.
What do you guys think? Hit or miss?

It’s a miss. I don’t like the shoes and I think it needs to be tailored. I also don’t like the color.

I’m not a fan of it. I think the color is nice on her, but I still think rompers are for babies and little children. The dress would have been so much better as a shift dress, and the sleeves less puffy, or sleeveless.

My brain is just not grasping anything appealing.

Oh, God, miss! Why did her publicist let her leave looking like that? There nothing flattering or appealing about anything that she is wearing, on top of the fact that that color drowns her out in her paleness. Sorry, it’s a “no” from me.

I like the romper. Maybe not the shoes.

Totally a miss! Honestly, January Jones is sooo stunning on Mad Men, but when I see pictures of her in real life…how to put it…it’s like, I don’t think she styles herself in a flattering way-at all. Or maybe I just don’t care for her style. Here, I hate the color, the fit, and the makeup…I think it all makes her look gaunt and just…not well.

I don’t really like rompers, but she always looks perfect, so it’s alright here.
