I’ve been a runner since high school, but I’ve yet to run a 5K. Sounds crazy, I know, but it’s definitely on my bucket list, and 2013 will be the year that I take part in the Color Run, the happiest 5K that I’ve ever seen. It takes place in cities all across the United States (and Australia!), focusing less on speed and more on rainbow-tastic fun with friends and family. You don’t even have to be a runner to take part in the 5K; you can walk the entire thing if you want to! If that’s not enough to convince you to register, then check out these awesome pictures

Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color: yellow, orange, pink and blue. As the participants reach each color zone, they are blitzed by volunteers, sponsors and staff with 100% natural and safe pigment dyes. The best is saved for last with a color extravaganza, with food, more color and festivities. This seriously sounds like so much fun. One of my close friends did this last year and I was so jealous… so I’m definitely signing up in Dallas in February 2013!

Would you ever participate in the Color Run, Lovelies? Do any of you run? Any advice to us (ahem, me) that want to run a 5K?
