Most of the year, I’m not that interested in watching scary movies. It’s not that I think they’re bad or low-brow; there are just other things I’d rather watch. But once October rolls around, my mood begins to change. The crisp weather puts me in the mood for some scary (but preferably not too gory) fun, and I watch everything from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to The Thing before Halloween gets here. But despite my viewing habits, I’ve never been a horror movie buff. Which is why these little-known facts about scary films were so interesting to me!  For example, did you know that Tom Cruise was originally offered the role of Edward Scissorhands? That would have been bizarre. (And I guess it’s technically not a horror film, but the fact is still intriguing!) Click here to read even more intriguing tidbits of spooky information.

One more interesting fact: apparently Halloween‘s Mike Myers wore a William Shatner mask to do his gory business. The props department bought the cheapest mask at the store and simply spray painted it white! Head on over to the source to read even more interesting facts. [via Buzzfeed]

Which of these facts is most interesting?
