There are many things about fashion I have trouble understanding. Thigh high boots is one of them. I don’t understand why so many girls wear these boots that make them look (in my opinion)like cheap hookers.
I’ve never seen someone wear thigh high boots and thought they looked good. Maybe I’m just naive and am missing out on a great fashion trend, but in my opinion, these boots are way over-sized and look funny no matter what type of clothing they’re paired with. However, many people disagree with this opinion and think thigh high boots are extremely fashionable.
What do you think, Lovelies? Are thigh high boots fashionable? To help you make your decision, check out some celebs in thigh-high boots in the gallery below!

I may not love it but I certainly am not about to say that it makes people look like cheap hookers. That’s a little immature there.
Some of these women pictured can work the thigh high boots. They definitely don’t look like the early 90′s movie hookers you’re probably thinking of. Julia Roberts wore them in Pretty Woman, so now any woman who tries the trend is instantly channelling “cheap hooker?” -__-

Anyone who has bought a pair of boots will know they are not cheap! I am not a fan of the look, but it can be done tastefully depending on how it is worn. I think it looks horrible worn with a body suit and “fur” coat in the couture photo. I think it looks okay worn with short dresses to offer more coverage, and with leggings. But, I will never wear them–I’m not tall and thin, and I’ve got FAT thighs.

I just don’t think it’s a flattering look.

I think it can look great, but only on long-legged people. I’m short so I avoid them. There’s a girl in my English class who wears them all the time and I’ve never see someone pull them off like here. She’s super tall and has long legs, but she isn’t super skinny. Not like skinny girls can’t wear them, but I think this is a trend only for tall girls.

I don’t think tall boots make women look like sex workers because I don’t think sex workers have any specific look. That said, I don’t particularly like thigh-high boots; they’re usually overwhelming. Although once in a while, I truly love the way a designer or stylist utilizes them.

I like boots up to the knees, then that’s it. I personally think you should just wear a thick/warm pair of pants or a longer jacket if you’re that concerned with protecting your upper legs haha (but then I’m pretty sure these boots are mostly for fashion).
I guess some women can wear these well, but I think they’d be better with just knee-high boots or shorter.

Three words: Because they’re hot.

I can’t say I object to them.

I don’t own a pair of thigh high boots myself.
I do think they look good if they are styled “tastefully”. It helps if you’re tall, and have a great pair of legs.
Leggings, and skinny jeans tucked in…look good in my opinion.

they just look kind of uncomfortable to me. but I think they look ok with leggings underneath.

My ex-roomate wore them all of the time in the fall & winter.
“It’s great,” she said to me one day, “I like..never have to shave my legs when I’m wearing these things!”
I’m just not the biggest fan. I really wouldn’t suggest a woman’s clothing can indicate her sexual status, her history, whether or not she is a “slut” (I’m against slut-shaming… but that’s a whole other topic) but yes, thigh highs look a little… cheap to me.

I really like them. Long slim legs can definitely pull these off. Only the leather or studded high heels ones look cheap.

If you think tall boots make one look like a hooker, then that’s your hangup. An awfully crude and immature one, at that. I think they look awesome. I’m betting all the women who wear them also think they’re awesome.

You answered your own question. There’s a large % of women who want to look like hookers, and have been well rewarded for doing so.

thigh highs are not a trend.
they often look good, but just you have to be able to pull them off and have a relatable outfit (http://www.havegunswillrent.com/accessories/steampunkthighhiboots.gif) . they look good because of the way they allow skin to show- they are basically calf length stockings and need to be worn appropriately. in the pictures you posted they don’t’ fit with the rest of the outfit so they look tacky, again none of those would work with thigh-high stockings either. i take that back, in pictures 5 and 9 you present- 5 lacks a good fit, and 9 is matched poorly with the dress (though it is the best you presented)
pic 6 is almost there, but it is bloated around her calf. the match with the outfit though is sollid.
it is the same thing as the shorts which cover one’s belly button. they can’t be the focus point to be acceptable, and good looking- they must compliment the rest of the legs or they don’t work.
teh no belly button shorts draw teh eye to the torso and chest. these boots draw the eye to the legs, so a non-clashing skirt, dress, or shorts- are necessary.

I got rid of my thigh high boots for garage sale, they only look best when I’m wearing shorts, mini-skirts, tunics, or leggings. I’m fine with my knee-high boots, they’re more of my staple items.

I think thigh high boots are fabulous!
No, I don’t think they make women look like cheap hookers. That sort of catty comment sounds like it’s coming from someone wishes they could look that good in a pair of thigh high boots. And even the plainest pair of thigh high boots is far sexier than all of the god-awful ugly sandals that I constantly see.
