When it comes to preparing for Halloween, I’m a total pro. Creative costumes…check! Spooky decorations…check! Perfectly picked pumpkin…double check! As for Halloween movies, I’m a complete and utter wuss.
From the moment I sang the words, “I ain’t afraid of no ghost!” my brain instantly responded with, “Yeah, right!” Take last Friday, for instance. While I was home alone, I gave watching Donnie Darko a try. Here I am, days later and guess what? I’m still looking over my back every few minutes for that damn bunny!
Thankfully, to calm my chilled nerves, I’ve compiled my holy grail of completely harmless Halloween films that I plan on watching for the rest of the month! Check them out and see if we share the same favorites!
1. Teen Witch
“I’m hot! And you’re not! But if you wanna hang with me I’ll give it one shot! Top that!” Yes, I know the rap…don’t judge me.
2. Hocus Pocus
Okay, so when I was younger, Billy the zombie did kind of freak my out. But since seeing Zombieland, I’ve nut up.
3. Beetlejuice
Whenever I watch this movie, I can never decide who I want to dress up like more: Lydia Deetz or Miss Argentina.
4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Okay, serious question. Is this a Halloween movie, Christmas movie, or both?
5. Edward Scissorhands
*Sniff sniff* Their love was so pure! *Sniff sniff*
6. Addams Family Values
When Wednesday and Pugsley are away, Aunt Debbie will play.
7. The Craft
These teenage witches made Sabrina look like a fairy.
8. Ghostbusters
Sing it with me lovelies, “I ain’t afraid of no ghost!”
9. Casper Meets Wendy
This was the first time we were introduced to Hilary Duff before Lizzie McGuire, and man was she precious!
10. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
A classic. Plain and simple.
Lovelies, what’s your favorite, not scary movie? Check out a gallery for some great screen-caps from my list!

I’ve only seen Hocus Pocus out of this list, and even that movie was “meh” to me :-\
I need my Halloween movies to be scary haha

I tend to like scarier movies for Halloween.

The only one I haven’t seen is the one with Hilary Duff. They were all cute. I’d watch them with my kid (except the Hilary Duff one; I have standards). If there are no zombies, non-glittering vampires, demons, ghost, or knives involved; it’s probably not my kind of Halloween movie.

Don’t forget the Halloweentown movies! Ahahaha so fun. XD

I need to find Teen Witch on DVD!! I’ve watched all the movies mentioned except for Casper Meets Wendy. I’m all for the original Casper with Cristina Ricci and Devon Sawa *swoon*.
I watch Edward Scissorhands during Christmas, though, and not Halloween. I loved the naive, innocent, and precious being Johnny portrayed in Edward.
According to DIsneyland’s decor during Halloween season and Christmas season, Nightmare Before Christmas is both. lol… I’m planning on doing Jack Skellington nails for Halloween!

I love Halloween, and the scarier the movies the better but I really like all of these movies too. I was so excited at like six or seven when the Olsen twins put out Double,Double Toil and Trouble but I think that year was the only year it aired.
My favorite non-scary movie was probably The Mask, the Goosebumps one. My little sisters and I wore out that and Sleepy Hollow (the Johnny Depp one not the cartoon).

Haha the bunny from Donnie Darko scared the crap out of me too!
I’ve seen all the movies on your list except Teen Witch and Nightmare Before Christmas. Will have to check those out this Halloween!

The original Casper movie needs to be on here as well. I was in love with Devon Sawa for the longest time! haha
