Magician David Blaine is known for his daredevil stunts that make you “oooh” and “ahhh” while wondering if he has any fear at all. For his latest stunt called, “Electrified: 1 Million Volts Always On“, Blaine will attempt to stand in the middle of a million volts of electric currents during an astounding 72 hours on Pier 54 in New York City for the world to see. Oh and did I mention he will be standing on a platform at the edge of the Hudson River?!

Of course, this is not David’s first rodeo. His most recent previous endeavor was standing inside an giant ice cube for over 60 hours in Times Square. Other stunts of his have included hanging upside down over Central Park and being buried alive in a block of ice.

During this high voltage stunt, spectators will have the opportunity to type messages to David Blaine to help keep him alert. The 39-year-old will also be wearing a chainmail bodysuit, a wire helmet and a visor to protect himself from the currents.

Blaine feels that the hardest part of this stunt is not being able to eat for the entire 72 hours. He will, however, have a tube to take water in and an additional tube for other things to come out, although he fasted for days before the stunt.

The stunt began on Friday and so far, so good.

If he makes it through the entire 72 hour period, I will be shocked! (Sorry, I had to do it).
