Over-bearing parents are one thing, but one Cantonese billionaire takes the idea to a whole new level. Cecil Chao Sze-tsung has decided to throw his name on the ballet for Worst Father of the Year by offering $65 million to any man who can get his lesbian daughter to marry him.

In other words, throwing money at his problems has always solved them in the past, so why would it not solve the “problem” of his daughter’s sexual orientation?

The shipping and real estate success has been rumored to have slept with an alarming 10,000 women, but has never been married. His 33 -year-old daughter, Gigi Chao, was said to have married her partner of seven years recently in France, although it has been denied numerous times by her father.

Since Cecil’s offer went public this Wednesday, there have been over 100 offers from suitors all over the country. The offers came in forms of e-mails, faxes and even written letters. Gigi has also claimed that many men have stopped her in the street to propose and that she has even gotten an offer from a producer to buy her story.

Although homosexuality is not banned in Hong Kong or even deemed as a mental disorder as it was in China in 2001, it is still frowned upon. Gigi Chao, among many others, feels that change is overdue.
